Simple Living Manifesto: 72 Ideas to Simplify Your Life “Simplicity is the peak of civilization.” – Jessie Sampter By Leo Babauta A simple life has a different meaning and a different value for every person. For me, it means eliminating all but the essential, eschewing chaos for peace, and spending your time doing what’s important to you. It means getting rid of many of the things you do so you can spend time with people you love and do the things you love. However, getting to simplicity isn’t always a simple process. If you’re interested in simplifying your life, this is a great starter’s guide (if you’re not interested, move on). The Short List For the cynics who say that the list below is too long, there are really only two steps to simplifying: Identify what’s most important to you.Eliminate everything else. Of course, that’s not terribly useful unless you can see how to apply that to different areas of your life, so I present to you the Long List. Make a list of your top 4-5 important things.

The Complete Guide to Not Giving a Fuck Ok, I have a confession to make. I have spent almost my whole life– 31 years–  caring far too much about offending people, worrying if I’m cool enough for them, or asking myself if they are judging me. I can’t take it anymore. Today, ladies and gentlemen, is different. We’re going to talk about the cure. Do you wonder if someone is talking shit about you? Well, it’s time you started not giving a fuck. FACT NUMBER 1. Yes, it’s really happening right at this moment. What people truly respect is when you draw the line and say “you will go no further.” Right. Regular people are fine– you don’t actually hear it when they’re talking behind your back. Thankfully, that’s not actually true. FACT NUMBER 2. This stuff is crazy, I know, but it’s cool, you’ll get used to it. How liberating this is may not even hit you yet, but it will. You know when they say “the best revenge is a life well lived”? So not giving a fuck is actually a necessary precedent to create a good life for yourself. STEP 1.

Web application framework History[edit] Around the same time, full integrated server/language development environments first emerged, such as WebBase and new languages specifically for use in the web started to emerge, such as ColdFusion, PHP and Active Server Pages. Types of framework architectures[edit] Most web application frameworks are based on the model–view–controller (MVC) pattern. Model–view–controller (MVC)[edit] Push-based vs. pull-based[edit] Three-tier organization[edit] In three-tier organization, applications are structured around three physical tiers: client, application, and database.[7][8][9][10] The database is normally an RDBMS. Framework applications[edit] General-purpose website frameworks[edit] For example, Zend Framework. Discussion forums, wikis and weblogs[edit] For example, WikiBase/WikiWikiWeb. Organizational portals[edit] For example, JBoss Portal or eXo Platform. Content management systems (CMS)[edit] Features[edit] Web template system[edit] Caching[edit] Security[edit] Scaffolding[edit] Ajax[edit]

Marcus Aurelius’ Six Timeless Observations on Life Marcus Aurelius Antoninus was Roman emperor from 161 until his death in 180. A great thinker, Marcus embodied Plato’s ideal of the philosopher king to a considerable extent. He was a strong emperor, engaging in various wars in defense of the Roman empire for his entire reign, but he was also greatly concerned with social justice and welfare, even going so far as to sell his own possessions to alleviate people’s suffering from famine and plague (from which he died). Marcus left behind a corpus of writing which, despite it’s antiquity, offers us some truly timeless wisdom. Here are six lessons we can learn from his observations on life. Lesson #1: We Are Responsible for Our Own Experience of Life “Such as are your habitual thoughts; such also will be the character of your mind; for the soul is dyed by the color of your thoughts.” Much has been made recently of the (so called) ‘law of attraction.’ I keep a sign posted over my desk at work. Lesson #3: Live a Real Life Lesson #4: Be Grateful

IBM WebSphere Application Server Architecture[edit] WAS is built using Open standards such as Java EE, XML, and Web Services. It is supported on the following platforms: Windows, AIX, Linux, Solaris, i/OS and z/OS. Version history[edit] IBM has shipped several versions and editions of WebSphere Application Server. In the first beta versions, WebSphere had been called Servlet Express.[8] Although the versioning scheme x.1 and x.5 would usually indicate a minor release in the software industry, WebSphere v6.1 and v5.1 are major releases, just like WebSphere v8.5 and v3.5.[9] Version 8.5.5[edit] WebSphere Application Server V8.5.5 includes significant enhancements to the Liberty profile compared to v8.5. Version 8.5[edit] WebSphere Application Server V8.5 offers the same Java EE 6 and Java SE 6 (by default) as V8.0 and also provides - and can be configured to run on - Java SE 7. Intelligent management capability is added in the Network Deployment and z/OS editions of WebSphere Application server. Version 7.0[edit] Security[edit]

Your Personality Color To discover your personality color, ask yourself: what is my favorite color? Answer this question now before reading any further. Don't think about it, be spontaneous with your answer; accept the first color that comes into your mind and don't analyze your choice. It is this instinctual choice of a color that tells you a lot about yourself, how you function and how others see you. If you have two equally favorite colors, read the information on both to fully understand yourself and what motivates you. Your personality color does not have to be one you wear all the time; it is usually your favorite, the color that excites you the most and makes you feel alive when you see it. Dislike of a Color The colors you dislike can tell you a lot about yourself as well, often reflecting your weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Does everyone have a favorite color? Most of us do and many of us have had the same one since childhood. Have you changed your favorite color? The Colour of Sex

ISAPI Filters <isapiFilters> Overview The <isapiFilters> element allows you to manage ISAPI filters on your Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 server. You can add an ISAPI filter when you want to enhance Web server functionality. For example, you might have an ISAPI filter that captures information about HTTP requests and saves the information to a database. Note: Although IIS 7 supports ISAPI filters, Microsoft recommends that you extend Web server functionality by using modules instead of by using ISAPI filters. The <isapiFilters> element can contain one or more <filter> elements, each of which defines an ISAPI filter enabled for your server or Web site. Compatibility Setup To use the <isapiFilters> element, you must install the ISAPI Filters module on your IIS 7 server. Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 On the taskbar, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install. Windows Vista or Windows 7 How To Configuration None.

Troubleshooting Failed Requests Using Tracing in IIS 7 Introduction Request-based tracing is available both in stand-alone IIS Servers and on Windows Azure Web Sites (WAWS) and provides a way to determine what exactly is happening with your requests and why, provided that you can reproduce the problem that you are experiencing. Problems like poor performance on some requests, or authentication-related failures on other requests, or the server 500 error from ASP or ASP.NET can often be difficult to troubleshoot--unless you have captured the trace of the problem when it occurs. the following article discusses failed request tracing on IIS Server. Failed-request tracing is designed to buffer the trace events for a request and only flush them to disk if the request "fails," where you provide the definition of "failure". The tasks that are illustrated in this article include: Prerequisites Install IIS You must install IIS 7 or above before you can perform the tasks in this article. 50 Things Everyone Should Know How To Do Self-reliance is a vital key to living a healthy, productive life. To be self-reliant one must master a basic set of skills, more or less making them a jack of all trades. Why you should learn to lucid dream | Yes, I Can! by Robin Nixon If you’ve never experienced it then you may find it hard to understand what lucid dreaming is all about. In fact you may be thoroughly sceptical and dismiss the whole thing as silly nonsense. But I can tell you from personal experience that lucid dreams are very real and something that many millions of people regularly enjoy. Note: Due to the huge amount of interest that this post has generated I am now seriously considering writing a book on the subject, and I would welcome input from anyone with an interest. These types of dreams are hyper-real in that when you experience one it is bursting with vibrant colour, there’s often marvellous music playing in the background (if you listen for it), the air is the freshest and sweetest you’ve ever smelled, and you are the healthiest you have ever been (or could ever be). Lucid dreaming is when you experience full consciousness while dreaming. When you ‘wake up’ inside a dream you can consciously appreciate just how wonderful dreams really are.
