Make It! (13 iPad Apps for Creative Teachers and Students) Without really intending to, I’ve written a few posts recommending apps for the iPad and iPhone. In what follows, I’d like to offer you a mixed party of apps I have discovered since. What melts the whole sticky mass together is that most of them are focused on creative content generation. And they’re fun and easy to use. The apps are presented in random order. 1. This sweet app seems to have quite a big cult following. I use Explain Everything to create flipped video lessons. Move over Wallace and Grommet! Take a picture and make added text bend and flex however you want it to. 5. Ok, yes, this is a game. Essentially, you need to combine elements to make new ones. 6. Search for music you like. Add speech bubbles and ‘cartoonify’ your pics. An intuitive, fully functional photo editor with some nice tools and effects. There seems to be a plethora of apps that can do text to speech. Take a picture. A remote control for your creative PowerPoint presentations. Have fun making! Peace: Sean Related
17 Measurement Apps for Math and Science From edshelf by edshelf: Reviews & recommendations of tools for education If you teach math or science, you will likely find yourself asking your students to take out their rulers, compasses, protractors, thermometers, altimeters, and other measuring devices. Being able to see with a ruler and a protractor how a triangle with two equal sides really does have two equal angles can be powerful. Glenda Stewart-Smith of Surrey School District #36 in Canada put together this collection of iPhone and iPad apps that offer all of these measuring abilities and more. BigMind – An Intuitive Mind Mapping iPad App I’m a big fan of mind mapping as a method for organizing thoughts, connecting concepts, and visualizing the big picture of concept. In fact, I think the mind mapping process is so valuable that I created an entire workshop about it. One of the mind mapping iPad apps that I often recommend is Popplet. Recently, I tried BigMind and I think that it could challenge Popplet in popularity. BigMind allows to create mind maps by using one of their eight templates or by creating a mind map from scratch. Whether you work from a template or start with a blank canvas, the features of BigMind are the same. All of your BigMind mind maps can be password protected. BigMind is currently listed at $4.99.
