How I Use Mindmapping to Write I use lots of tools for writing. The other day, I talked about the importance of writing practice. Today, as I’m working on a new speech, I wanted to share another tool I use: mind mapping. Before you ask, because the technology minded of you often do, this particular mindmapping software is called Mind Node and it’s for Mac. There are plenty of tools for Windows and some that operate online. ‘The mind map has become an intellectual capital thinking tool’ - Money Mind map helps everyone, from a year old baby to leading MNCs, in enhancing their efficiencies and in leading better lives, says Anthony “Tony” Buzan. Search for Tony Buzan and the internet will give gallons of information on mind maps and thinking. Literature and Latte - Scapple for Mac OS X and Windows Rough It Out Scapple doesn’t force you to make connections, and it doesn’t expect you to start out with one central idea off of which everything else is branched. There’s no built-in hierarchy at all, in fact—in Scapple, every note is equal, so you can connect them however you like. The idea behind Scapple is simple: when you are roughing out ideas, you need complete freedom to experiment with how those ideas best fit together. It’s Scapple Simple Online image and photo editor - Aviary.com's Phoenix As per this blog post from July, we have officially closed the advanced suite of Flash tools (previously located at advanced.aviary.com) in order to focus on our new company direction powering the photo experience in 3rd party apps. While we hoped that everyone would have taken the time to retrieve their files since our notice, we recognize that the message may not have been seen by everyone. Therefore, if you were not able to retrieve all of your files to date, please contact us at support@aviary.com from the email address associated with your account to help retrieve your files. Do this quickly.

Motivation to Write Through Achievement Badges We all need motivation to keep writing everyday. Writing for passive income can be a slow process that may not pay off until months and years later when you are enjoying the results of all that typing. But what about motivation today? How can a person be sure to keep driving at passive income writing goals? Infobarrel has an innovative achievement badge system that helps members keep track of milestones in their writing effort. While the badges have no direct financial reward, they each represent measurements of things that make for a successful passive income writer and that will ultimately translate into income. Using 3D Topicscape - Users' Stories There are many 2D mind mapping packages out there, but for the heavy lifting you need 3D Topicscape. 3D Topicscape is different. 3D Topicscape is better. Users have made great use of Topicscape's ability to have tens of thousands of files in one database. A single topic may have many files attached (hundreds if you wish) and can still be handled easily.

Who invented mind mapping I've seen comments around the web that say that Tony Buzan didn't invent mind mapping. What he did, they say, was to take a quite well-known technique (going back many hundreds of years according to some sources), narrowed it down with his ten rules and 'invented' a name, which he then trademarked (but see below for more about the mark). He then marketed this very successfully through BBC programmes (which is where I first encountered it in the 1970s), books and lecture tours. I had heard of and used spider diagrams long before that, though.

Visual Understanding Environment - Features Enhanced Pathways and Presentation Tools VUE’s unique pathways tool now supports the construction of interactive presentations. The pathways tool allows the presenter and audience to focus in on specific content while at the same time maintaining a sense of its overall context within a VUE map. VUE authors may also navigate their pathways in a linear or non-linear fashion, allowing for “just-in-time teaching” and more in-depth exploration of a topic. Creating Pathways (Video running time: 48 sec.) Adding a node to a pathway now produces a slide where node content can be arranged for presentation purposes.

How To Train Yourself To Be In The Mood You Want Dec 27, 2010 When you have major changes going on in your life, or you’re just frustrated about where you are, it’s easy to get trapped in a cycle of depression, bad moods and frustration. I know, I’ve been there … and when I’m not careful, I still get there more than I want to. But when I’ve had a particularly hard time, I hit these moments where I’m in a foul mood, or I’m just feeling paralyzed, and I’m just stuck. Sometimes I just stew in that and stay there, but sometimes I actually get intelligent and pull my way out of it. I’m going to outline the framework that I’ve been using successfully to really get myself resourceful and motivated (and in a better mood) when I’m feeling stuck.
