6630507 Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention.

Rare Postcards Reveal Early 20th Century Panoramas Panorama of a performance of Longfellow’s “Indian Passion Play,” “Hiawatha,” in Petoskey, Michigan, Photograph by Alton G. Cook (1906). (All images courtesy the Library of Congress) The United States Postal Service was just expanding into widespread delivery to the remote corners of the country when panoramic postcards appeared to advertise in wide frame the beauty of these far-flung locales. Usually folding for more compact delivery, these broad little views offered expansive looks at landscapes, and also accommodated the rapidly growing modern marvels of the world, like towering skyscrapers or massive sea vessels. Office of the Mayor : News Releases : Mayor Lee’s Statement on U.S. Supreme Court Decision Supporting Marriage Equality in California Mayor Lee’s Statement on U.S. Supreme Court Decision Supporting Marriage Equality in California Mayor Edwin M. Lee today issued the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court decision on marriage equality, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) as unconstitutional and the challenge to the Ninth Circuit Court ruling overturning California’s Proposition 8 lacked standing: “The United States Supreme Court today has taken a historic step toward guaranteeing marriage equality for every Californian and protecting millions of California families, choosing hope and love over ignorance and discrimination. More than nine years ago, then-Mayor Gavin Newsom took a courageous stand against marriage discrimination in San Francisco, marrying thousands of loving couples, and there is a direct line from that historic day to this one.

and CCR Comment on New York Times Article on Killing of Anwar Al-Aulaqi March 10, 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: (212) 549-2666; media@aclu.org NEW YORK - The American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights issued the following statement in response to The New York Times article today detailing the U.S. government’s killings of three U.S. citizens: "In anonymous assertions to The New York Times, current and former Obama administration officials seek to justify the killings of three U.S. citizens even as the administration fights hard to prevent any transparency or accountability for those killings in court. "Government officials have made serious allegations against Anwar al-Aulaqi, but allegations are not evidence, and the whole point of the Constitution’s due process clause is that a court must distinguish between the two. Merced Theatre Coordinates: The Merced Theatre is located at 301 W. Main Street, at the corner of Main Street and Martin Luther King Way, in Merced, California.[2] The theatre is significant both for its role as the social and cultural center of Merced from the Depression through the post World War II era and for its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on May 1, 2009 and the listing was announced as the featured listing in the National Park Service's weekly list of June 5, 2009.[3] The Golden State Theatre Company hired San Francisco architects the Reid Brothers to design the Merced Theatre. Builder Gian Battista Pasqualetti used steel from the Golden Gate Iron Works, ornamental iron from the San Jose Iron Works, and ornamental tiles from the Hispano Maresque Tile Company in Los Angeles to construct the Reid Brothers design for the multi-level, white stucco coated steel framed reinforced concrete building. File:Hatfield House Old Palace.jpg In a Mass Knife Fight to the Death Between Every American President, Who Would Win and Why? « Face in the Blue Hello everyone! One of my most-visited sites on the web is Reddit.com, and one of my favourite subreddits is HistoricalWhatIf, an online community that debates historical hypotheticals. Earlier today someone asked the question, In a mass knife fight to the death between every American President, who would win and why? Someone beat me to the obvious answer that a final showdown would see Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt doing a dagger-wielding version of a Mexican standoff, so I took it too far and walked through how I thought every president would turn out. To begin, here were the original conditions of the hypothetical, as suggested by the redditor Xineph: Every president is in the best physical and mental condition they were ever in throughout the course of their presidency. With the scenario set, here’s my take on it: 2) John Adams is going out early. 3) Thomas Jefferson. 4) James Madison. 5) James Monroe. 6) John Quincy Adams. 8) Martin Van Buren. 18) Ulysses S.

So Re laid a curse upon Nut - that she should not be able to bear any child upon any day in the year. "one of them would end his reign among men..." Full of sorrow, Nut went for help to Thoth, the thrice-great god of wisdom and magic and learning, Re's son, who loved her. At last Khonsu would play no more. But, since his match with Thoth, Khonsu the moon has not had enough light to shine throughout the month, but dwindles into darkness and then grows to his full glory again; for he had lost the light needed to make five whole days. On the first of these days Osiris, the eldest son of Nut, was born, and the second day was set aside to be the birthday of Horus the Elder. When Osiris was born many signs and wonders were seen and heard throughout the world. "I fit exactly, and the chest is mine!" Digg This!
