Droog − a different perspective on design Situated in five historic buildings, Hôtel Droog is more a labyrinth than just a simply beautiful building. Each of the spaces have their own unique character, but all reflect the design sensibility that Droog brings. Since we tend to rebuild the rooms quite often, you can be assured of an original event location that will certainly surprise your guests. Cafe Droog At your service! Under the careful supervision of Berend Striks’ interpretation of ‘De Staalmeesters’ (originally painted by Rembrandt), you’ll find the cafe of Hôtel Droog. Cafe Droog is open every day from 9am until 7pm. 360 degrés coffee table by Roberto Paoli for Ligne Roset Product news: an extra surface swings out from underneath this coffee table by Italian designer Roberto Paoli (+ slideshow). Designed for Ligne Roset, 360 degrés has a second shelf tucked underneath the larger table top, which can be rotated outward and positioned on three sides next to the slightly higher surface to create more flat space. The additional shelf is balanced on an arm that branches from the single leg supporting the primary table.

Foreign Office Architects - Yokohama International Port Terminal Photo: arcspace The brief of the Yokohama International Port Terminal asked for the articulation of a passenger cruise terminal and a mix of civic facilities for the use of citizens in one building. The site had a pivotal role along the city's water front that, if declared a public space, would present Yokohama City with a continuous structure of open public spaces along the waterfront. Our proposal for the project start by declaring the site as an open public space and proposes to have the roof of the building as an open plaza, continuous with the surface of Yamashita Park as well as Akaranega Park.

Strawberry Earth - Slow Wood Hey you, with the foamy cappuccino. Did you know only 0,2% of every coffee bean ends up in your cup? The other 99,8% could become... MUSHROOMS! We’re not hallucinating. The gents from RotterZwam are growing your favorite pizza topping on the waste of your coffee. Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design CHAMPIONS is a collection of lacquered tables we produced for Galerie Kreo in Paris. The tables are made of aluminum (extrusions and folded sheet) with tops in float glass. PODIFY, the largest table, measures 3.5m in length.

Jan Gehl - World Design Summit Gehl ArchitectsDenmark While Jan Gehl’s research on public spaces and public life began in Copenhagen, it was quickly applied to many other cities throughout Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. His ideas and approaches to design for public spaces incorporate the cutting edge of technology without losing sight of what best supports and enhances people’s experience of everyday life in the public realm. In 1960, Jan Gehl earned his BA and MA in Architecture from the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and began practicing as an architect.
