Crochet Star Making - A Tutorial.

Crochet Star Making - A Tutorial.
Hello. I have been making crochet stars this week. For no good reason really, just because they're fun to make. So I thought some of you might like to have a bit of crafty fun too. These stars use up tiny amounts of wool, so get your scraps box out! I used a mixture of hot colours.... .....and a nice mix of cool colours. You need to make 10 star 'points' or diamonds ( 5for the front and 5 for the back). You can make your stars bigger or smaller by varying the number of rows or by changing the yarn weight and hook size you use. (leave a long tail at the beginning so you can use it to sew up later) Ch 2 row 1: 2sc into 2nd ch from hook, turn. row 2: Ch1(turning chain) 1sc into first st, 2sc into 2nd st, turn. row 3: Ch1, 1sc into 1st st, 1sc into 2nd st, 2sc into last st, turn. row 4: Ch1, 1sc into 1st st, 1sc into each st across until last st, 2sc into last st, turn. Start decreasing. The decrease pattern is as follows: Ch1, sk1st st, sc into next st and each st across, turn. (see photo above). Related:  Bloggar

Bohemchic | Snitsiga snedtak…. Jag gillar rum som har snedtak. Inredningen blir genast intressant. Vackra träslag och klassisk förvaring längst in under snedtaket.

Baby rainbow sandals I've called these baby rainbow sandals because of the yarn I've used to make the most recent pair (Catania Color). However you can make them in a plain colour or two colours. I've indicated where to make the colour changes if you want to make the two-colour version (for a two-colour version see this post). These baby sandals are 10 cm/4 inches long so size 3 months approx. The sandals are worked in a single piece - the only things you need to sew on are the buttons. I have used US terms for this pattern (even though I'm British) as most visitors to my blog seem to hail from the USA. US sc = UK dc US dc = UK tr Please do not sell this pattern or post it to any website. So here we go: Start with 15 ch.rnd 1: 1 sc in third chain from hook, 1 sc in each of next 11 chs, 3 sc in next chain, then work 12 sc down the other side of the row of chs. (27 sts) rnd 7-10: working in back loop only, 1 sc around (55 sts) If you're making two-colour shoes this is where you should change colour.

Heart Bunting Super cute heart bunting, just what every home needs! I searched around the internet for a heart shape I liked, round and perfect and hearty enough. Alas I couldnt find one… so I made one up instead. These hearts are made with 8ply cotton and a 4mm hook. 1. 2. Double crochet once into each of the next three stitches, 5 double crochets into the next stitch. So this round goes: 5dc into first stitch, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc-1tr-1dc into next stitch, 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 5dc into next stitch, ss into last stitch, when you are done it should look like this: Join your next colour into the ss and chain 1. Repeat as many times as you desire… Cute aren’t they?? If your hearts don’t sit as flat as you would like give them a gentle iron on the reverse side (use a hanky or tea towel between your heart and the iron) To make the bunting; chain 20 attach chain to your first heart using a ss, chain 6 attach with ss to the other side of your heart. Hang and enjoy… Hope you are having a great week! Like this:

Thrifty Thursday...Recycled Milk Cartons Hi everyone!! It's Thrifty Thursday and today we are recycling milk cartons to use for a plant drainage dish. I've used the small plastic dishes you buy in the store, but they seem to be too short and the water ends up spilling over. Milk cartons are water proof, free and can be cut to any height. Some of the pots I use for plants are only decorative and not water proof, so I always put in the drainage dishes. You can use any milk carton...plastic or the wax coated cardboard type. I bought this silver dish in a thrift store and I just love it for this plant. The gallon size milk carton is perfect for this. See the little plastic dish on the bottom? The plastic carton cuts easily with a steak knife. You can use the bottom half for a drainage dish and the top half, with the spout, for a funnel!! Just the right size. Be careful not to leave too much water in the drainage dish or the plant's roots will rot. The half gallon cartons are great for little plants too! This one is scrap quilt squares...

How To: Make a Homemade Snow Globe As Kate so delicately alluded to earlier this week, I am somewhat of a holiday junkie. And Christmas is the holiday of all holidays for me. I decorated a week before Thanksgiving; yep, I’m one of those people. One of my most favorite holiday traditions as a child was our little family advent calendar and now that my kids are old enough to enjoy some fun and creative activities, I’ve filled up our little numbered stockings with slips of paper instead of candy. (There have been lots of questions about my advent calendar, and what I put into it. Snow globes are magical, whimsical, and fun. The first thing you need are jars, with nice snug lids. You can be creative with the items that go inside your snow globe, it’s just important that they are made of materials that won’t break down in water. Another really fun thing is to make your own little figurines with Sculpey Clay. I decided to take it up a notch though, and put something extra special inside. Seriously- Best.

Simple Sunburst Crochet Heart Tutorial Hello Lovelies, we are enjoying a quiet half term week here , I've been busy spring cleaning and reorganizing. But I've also taken the opportunity to write out another tutorial for you . My original Sunburst Granny Heart , which I posted last spring has turned out to be one of my most popular patterns. That's quite a complicated design though, with many different stitches . In this version my aim was to simplify things and also to create a solid version, suitable for stuffing......... What do you think ? Here goes with the tutorial...lots of pictures and tips as usual ......enjoy :0) I'm again using U.S. terms and you start by making a modified sunburst granny circle. Hello again, here goes with round 4....starting to develop the heart shape. In the next stitch make 1 hdc......... 1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches........ In the next stitch make 2 dc.......... followed by 1 dc in the next stitch and 2 dc in the following stitch......... Then it's time to make the second "bump".
