Make Your Own Detox Drink for Daily Enjoyment & Cleansing
Whether you’re just trying to steer clear of the sugary drinks, or aim to really help your body flush out any toxins lurking in your system, this refreshing blend of foods and flavors will satisfy your tastebuds needs. Included: Watermelon/cucumber, lemon/lime, mint leaves, and water. Why Watermelon (or cucumber): Watermelon helps the body flush out toxins because it contains the organic compound citrulline, which is an amino acid that has been shown to help the liver and kidneys filter and get rid of ammonia. Ammonia comes in external forms, but is also a by-product of the proteins our bodies are burning up constantly for energy, and it’s quite damaging to our cells. Why water: H20 is just plain good for us, but it’s thought that it helps flush nasty toxins and waste through our system, giving organs like the liver and kidney an easier time doing their job. Bile is produced by the liver and ends up in the small intestine to break down lipids (fats) that we’ve consumed. Watermelon & mint

9 Daily Habits That Will Make You Happier Happiness is the only true measure of personal success. Making other people happy is the highest expression of success, but it's almost impossible to make others happy if you're not happy yourself. With that in mind, here are nine small changes that you can make to your daily routine that, if you're like most people, will immediately increase the amount of happiness in your life: 1. Start each day with expectation. If there's any big truth about life, it's that it usually lives up to (or down to) your expectations. 2. The most common source of stress is the perception that you've got too much work to do. 3. I'm not talking about a formal, wrapped-up present. 4. Arguments about politics and religion never have a "right" answer but they definitely get people all riled up over things they can't control. 5. Since you can't read minds, you don't really know the "why" behind the "what" that people do. 6. Sometimes we can't avoid scarfing something quick to keep us up and running. 7. 8. 9.

Homemade Nesquik . . . Chocolate Milk Makes A Comeback One Good Thing by Jillee Nesquik has been around for as long as I can remember. I remember drinking it as a kid and my kids drank it when they were small as well. It can be a “parents best friend” when they are desperately trying to get their kids to drink milk…ANY milk. Unfortunately, chocolate milk has been under seige the last few years by people complaining of too much sugar. And if you’re making your own out of 3 simple ingredients you already probably have in your pantry, you know exactly what you’re drinking. So here’s to a chocolate milk comeback! Homemade Nesquik Recipe 2/3 C Sugar 1/3 C Cocoa Pinch of salt Combine the three ingredients and store in a sealed container. FYI…I added about two tablespoons to this pint-sized mason jar…but I would add to your taste. Thanks to Sarah at Sugar Bananas for sharing this homemade version of a childhood favorite AND for sharing a GREAT TIP for getting it to dissolve all the way in the cold milk. So I gave it a go and it worked brilliantly!

Wednesday Baking | Cheap, cheap bread (French Bread) This is probably the most inexpensive bread I make because of its simple, short ingredient list…water, salt, sugar, yeast, and flour. Water and salt are practically free, a tablespoon of sugar costs pennies, and flour isn’t very pricey either. This recipe is not going to turn out artisanal loaves that rival what you’d get in a French bakery…this bread is more like a heartier version of what you’d buy in your local supermarket. If you’d like to make your loaves more nutritious, you can substitute whole wheat flour for part of the white flour (I wouldn’t sub more than 50% of it, personally). I use this bread recipe quite often…we eat the loaves when they’re fresh and hot, I use the dough to make bread bowls, and I make panini sandwiches, French Bread pizzas, and garlic bread with extra loaves. Because of this, I rarely make one loaf! Easy French Bread Printable Recipe Makes one loaf In the bowl of a standing mixer, combine 1.5 cups flour with the salt, sugar, and yeast. Happy Baking!

How to cut glass I posted a picture about 1 week ago on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter of me cutting glass using just string. I got LOT’S of requests for a tutorial on how I DID THIS! So here it is. FINALLY! I want to warn you. It’s best to triple your yarn because it will burn longer! Soak it GOOD! I like to tie my yarn where I want my glass to “cut” then quickly pour polish remover over the string again. Get a big bowl with ice and water ready. VERY IMPORTANT! Slowly turn your bottle. You can’t let the flame go OUT then dunk it in the ice water. YAY!!! I reallly hope you enjoyed this tutorial because I had ALOT of requests for it! © Copyright jaderbombllc, All rights Reserved.

Networking Tips: Make Networking Work for You From “Notworking” to Networking Looking for a job? Need some personal advice? Unfortunately, some take the position that “doing everything” is better than “doing less.” Others treat networking like a personal marketing campaign dedicated to spreading the word about themselves and their needs, while ignoring the needs of their peers. Still other people join affinity groups merely for personal gain, but it doesn’t take long for people to learn that these folks are not givers, but takers. Successful networking occurs when people come together based on mutual respect and common interests, then voluntarily provide support for others with no strings attached. By Invitation Only People seldom realize that the actual makeup of their networks (some based on close relationships, others derived from casual relationships) serves very different and important purposes. On the other hand, people don’t expect the same level of time and effort in casual relationships. How to Make Networking Work?

Change . . . Why Bother? The major reasons, in addition to inertia, for resisting change are: Procrastination: We all have a tendency to postpone the difficult or uncomfortable. Unless you create a sense of urgency, there’s always time to think about change tomorrow. Lack of motivation: Unless the personal benefits are clear, most people will decide that change isn’t worth the effort. Fear of failure: If change requires learning a new skill, change may be avoided simply because we are not emotionally ready to deal with a potential setback. Fear of the unknown: What we don’t know frightens us. Fear of loss: We all worry that a new way of doing things may reduce our job security, power, or status. Dislike of the initiators of change: It is much more difficult to accept change when we lack confidence in or distrust the people initiating the effort. Additional Reading:Fallacies About Change
