Creative Recycling Of light Bulb into Valuable Things
When a light bulb burns out, we rarely give it a second thought. You can lend your imagination toward this fragile household item, intent on giving burnt out bulbs a second life as something very different, and aesthetically pleasing. It’s very easy to make, use of turning a light bulb into an oil burner, terrarium and many another interesting things. Used light bulbs, typically destined for the trash bin, could be the setting for an adorable miniature terrarium, practically any clear glass container can contain a tiny greenhouse, providing humidity and warmth to plants.

{Valentines day} pixel-y popup card
I‘ve been scratching my head trying to come up with a card for my hubby {AKA the non-romantic type}. I finally decided to make this pixely popup heart card! They are really minimal (which I love) and take about 20 minutes to make (that includes the card, insert and envelope). You can even make some pixely confetti to put inside the card (if you are a big kid like me!). Full instructions and printable templates below! (BTW I remember seeing something similar in a popup book years ago. How to 1. (If you have a cutting machine then see note at end of post!) Anthony Omari Late on the night of January 23, 2012, a 24 year-old Kenyan uber-hero named Anthony Omari awoke to find three gigantic dudes with machetes standing over his bed. He knew right away that they weren't there to sell Girl Scout cookies or ask him for a jumping mid-air high-five. Omari is the custodian of Faraja Children's Home in Ngong, Kenya – a sanctuary of healing and love that over the past several years has grown from a tin-roofed one-room shack in the slums of Nairobi into a decent-sized facility that has taken in 37 boys and girls who have been abandoned or orphaned from the street. The second Omari snapped awake, he immediately recognized the jokers standing around him – it was the fourth time this month that the Faraja Children's Home had been broken into, and it was at least the second time that these exact assholes had paid the orphans a visit in the middle of the night. Make an Edible Candy Bowl | Dollar Store Mom - Frugal Fun - Crafts for Kids
Today’s post is a lesson in improvisation. Why? Well, this project was INTENDED to be a candy tray, a fancy version of something I saw done flawlessly at Tutto Bella. Now, if I was a crafting perfectionist, or blogging perfectionist, or if I’d had two more cups of coffee today, maybe I’d've tried a second time to make my vision work…but I’m not, I’m not, and I didn’t. Supplies: candy canes- $1 for twelveold fashioned hard candies- $1starlight mints- $1 for a bag, I used just one for this particular project Unwrap the candy canes and starlight mint and arrange on a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes, but watch it closely the whole time!! Then I realized it was still quite hot and pretty pliable, so I quickly grabbed a bowl, turned it upside down and placed the whole thing on top.
