How to Create a Digital Doodled Snowflake in Adobe Illustrator Much of my childhood included hours spent cutting out odd shapes from folded pieces of paper and unfolding them to reveal the weirdest snowflakes I could imagine. Join me in Adobe Illustrator for a fun twist on this classic craft project. Draw a large circle (mine is eight inches in diameter for printing purposes) with the Ellipse Tool (L), fill set to null, Stroke Weight 1pt. Using the Line Segment Tool (\) to dissect the circle vertically. Copy (Control-C) and Paste (Control-V) the line and Rotate it 45 degrees. Phlearn .com Now on sale! Cool Typography with the Blend Tool in Illustrator I have written some Illustrator tutorials in which I've used the Blend Tool to create swirls and other shapes, but I have never used it to create a text effect. Then we received this email suggestion from one of our readers quite a few months ago asking us how to create that effect. I really like the text effect and decided to give it a try. Is it possible to select multiple layers by sel... And I guess it's the way I work. I routinely select objects by selecting them from the layers palette, and not the canvas, so that I can't accidentally move an object that is the clients artwork. I prefer to work this way, as I consider it "safer". (I lock layers I'm not using) I routinely run into artists work that for instance, converted fonts to outline, and now each compound layer that is an individual letter is an object on it's own layer. I need things grouped together and titled so that if I need to come back to this file and quickly fix something on press, I can tell what layer holds what object.

creatnprocess Here is another Unique shaped Logo Design. The 3 Dimensional view is represented by using few shades of color. So create this logo we will first use the rectangle tool to create a square. Then use the extrude and bevel option to obtain a cubical box to ensure basic structure of the design. Then using the symbol, which we will be creating from a square by dividing them into 3*3 rows and column. we add up that in each surfaces of the cube. And then we will expand them with the expand option.

How to Create a Stylish Deer with Brushes and Graphic Styles in Adobe Illustrator In this tutorial we are going to draw a deer with custom Art Brushes, Graphic Styles and Blends in Adobe Illustrator, all of them created by us, so let's get started. First we start by creating a New document (Cmd + N), the size of the artboard will be 600 x 1000 px. In the Layers panel, create four new layers: the bottom layer "Sketch" is where we are going to draw our sketch, the layer "Lines" we draw our base lines, in the layer "Shapes" is for some black figures that we need to do and finally in the layer "Details" its where all tiny details and magic is going to happen. With the Blob Brush Tool (Shift + B) we start to draw half of our deer. You can use a picture as a reference or simply get inspired, personally I don't do my sketches clean I use the sketch just as a base for my final illustration so in the process I can add or remove details. Now select your sketch and set the Opacity to 50%.

Adobe Illustrator in 3D Let’s tap into some of the 3D features of Adobe Illustrator. Though Illustrator doesn’t offer a 3D environment like a true 3D application, it does give you the ability to create 3D objects that can be modified within a 3D space. Texture mapping and light sources similar to those found in the high-end 3D applications are also available. [If you’d like to download the image used in this tutorial to practice these techniques, click here. All files are for personal use only.] How To Create an Abstract Geometric Poster Design Some of the coolest designs can be created with the simplest of tools. In this tutorial we’ll create a cool abstract poster design using nothing more than a hexagon. With careful composition, an enticing colour scheme and a series of textures you can easily create a great looking design that would work perfectly as a poster, or even artwork for a book or album cover. The design we’ll be creating is made up of a series of repeating hexagon shapes. The random injection of colour brings the design to life while the addition of textures helps create an aged retro style similar to the kinds of geometric patterns that were trendy in the 70’s.
