Flash animation Simple animation in Flash MX; a square moving across the screen in a motion tween, one of the basic functions of Flash. Onion skinning is used to show the apparent motion of the square. A Flash animation or Flash cartoon is an animated film which is created by Adobe Flash or similar animation software and often distributed in the .swf file format. The term Flash animation not only refers to the file format but to a certain kind of movement and visual style. With dozens of Flash animated television series, countless more Flash animated television commercials, and award-winning online shorts in circulation, Flash animation is currently enjoying a renaissance. In the late 1990s, when for most Internet users, bandwidth was still at 56 kbit/s, many Flash animation artists employed limited animation or cutout animation when creating projects intended for web distribution. History[edit] The first prominent use of the Flash animation format was by Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi. [edit]

Augmented reality using a webcam and Flash Adobe Flex uses a special type of code called the Embed metatag.Embed tags, as they are commonly called, enable a property to beinitialized with a value loaded from an external file. A unique aspectis that the byte loading happens at compile time (as the project ispublished) rather than at runtime (while the user interacts with theapplication). The bytes for the loaded file are baked into the SWFfile. Flash CS4 now supports this feature as well with help from theflex.SWC, which is included in this project's libs folder. Class constructor Sincethe constructor of a class is called only once, it is an ideal locationfor one-time-only setup code. Webcam setup Flashfeatures great webcam support. FLAR setup Acornerstone of this project is marker detection. Papervision3D setup For the mostpart, the 3D setup at line 98 is typical of any Papervision3D project.A BasicRenderEngine object will handle the bulk of the vector math, converting 3D geometry to 2D graphics for display on the screen.

Make a Particle Explosion Effect - Visual Arts - Articles - Articles What is a particle explosion effect? When most people see a particle explosion effect in a video game, often times they believe that what they’re seeing is a simulation - some sort of next-generation fluid mechanics, calculated in real-time by a high-powered video card. However, what they’re actually seeing in an explosion effect could be compared to throwing a bunch of photos of flames, sparks and clouds at a movie camera. Whether you’re an experienced video game developer or an avid player interested in game mechanics, we've broken down the process of developing an in-game particle effect into the following bite sized steps. NOTE: Many images link to videos. The beginning of the design for any in-game effect starts with sprites. How to Create Sprites Step 1: Create an image of mist in Adobe Photoshop or other photo editing software program. Step 2: Using your game engine software, create a sprite emitter, which will generate sprites, or particles. Putting the Sprites in Motion

I just hope there is some stuff in here thats useful and its not all absolute rubbish ! Delega: No sorry she wasnt! Beestonian: It will be a realtime, textured asset, the budget might be quite high though as I anticipate a lot of polys in the hair, but as far as physics and cloth etc etc, no Jackablade: Yeah thats her haha!! Bobo: So true man!! Scythe: Megurine Luka was in my top 100 for sure! So on with the baring all.... Drawing my girl. Recently a good friend of mine really busted my chops about 2D, so I thought I'd share some thoughts before I start talking about the Miku Sketches. As a modeller, for the longest time, I honestly didnt think 2d was that important to me. So, we often work from 2d images, and our skill as 3d artists is essentially measured by how well we capture, process and deliver this 2d information in 3D. I want to add something vital in here. HDR sky painting HDR Sky Painting Video link below When creating a skybox I always strive for interesting painted realism look rather than simply photoreal. If you simply want photoreal, there are many different ways to capture or buy skybox textures. When working in an HDR engine it really complicates things. Now, there are many options to make hdr skies. I'm going to be continuing exploration of how I'd get the exact look I want, but for now here is a quick sample texture I painted originally in 8bit and then converted to 32bit in photoshop and started painting exposure adjustment layers on top of it. Link to video: The next step will be to create the entire sky from scratch in 32 bit and paint these layers at the correct exposure levels to begin with.
