Tried and Tested Beauty I've been busy sampling a plethora of new beauty products over the last few weeks; here are the everyday enhancers that get my thumbs up... 1. Lancôme Dreamtone Dark Spot Corrector, £69I have sun damage-induced pigmentation, so was curious to try this in pigment profile number 1 (for fair skin). I don't think I've been using this long enough to truly report in its efficacy in this area, but I can say that its skin tone and colour correcting boasts have grounding - my skin's reddish undertones have reduced; my skin tone is looking more even. 2. Dior Airflash CC Primer, £30I think that moisturiser, plus primer, plus foundation everyday is pretty pore blocking. 3. 4.Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Black Toothpaste, £4.99I must admit it felt slightly wrong squeezing an oil-like slick of this on my toothbrush, and the greyish lather was slightly off-putting, but this is great stuff. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.

Book Review: Your Skin Factory by Dr Des Fernandes and Jennifer Munro - Wahanda Book Club In Your Skin Factory, Dr Des Fernandes and Jennifer Munro aim to explain to the world, in comprehensive terms, the best and simplest ways to look after our skin. Whether it’s spots, wrinkles or even cancer that worries you, this ‘production manual for better skin’ uses the metaphor of skin as a factory to explain simple ways to improve it. Not just helping skin look or feel better, this book aims to help skin be better through use of basic science and a bit of vitamin A, rather than expensive facials or serums. Sounds like what we’ve been searching for our entire life… Who wrote it? Dr Des Fernandes is a plastic surgeon specialising in cleft palette repair and facial and neck cosmetic surgery in South Africa. He met Jennifer through a mutual artist friend (who just happened to have painted both of them in the nude). What’s it all about? But, it’s not just a science lesson. What did we think? The book itself is certainly unique.
