Family Ever After....: Dance Duffle Ruffle Bag + Tutorial *Edited to add 2016: For an updated look of this bag, check out my latest posts- one made with laminate fabric, and a quilted version. The tutorial is basically the same as the one on this post. (I have the wonderful opportunity to be the sewing contributor on the best blog, Lil Luna. This is the first project I posted)... No. Strike that. DIY Sunprint emballage My go-to DIY seems to perpetually be a tote bag. Once you’ve got the basic technique down, you can churn one out in less than an hour. I’m always looking for an excuse to make one, and I get most excited when I can add a simple twist to make it into something totally new and different. In this case, a tried and true sewing technique plus an innovative product makes for a one-of-a-kind but decidedly utilitarian garden tote. Super cool light-sensitive dye lets me create my own, unique sunprinted textile with clippings from right outside my door, and using a box pleat-like technique, I create roomy pockets perfect for holding all kinds of gardening tools. -Mandy Pellegrin

In A Snap; Kids Wallet Tutorial Here's a quick project you can whip up in a snap! Makes a nice little stocking stuffer for some lucky little one. What you'll need Reusable Snack Bags - girl. Inspired. My littlest munchkin headed back to preschool this week and the school year is in full swing! Along with the morning hustle of brushing three sets of tangles and finding clothes and shoes, there are also lunches to be made. We’re working on a routine where the kids pack their dry snacks the evening before so that I can concentrate on making sandwiches, cutting fruit, and filling water bottles in the morning. I’ve pulled out some of the reusable snack bags that I sewed up back in the spring and we’re putting them to good use once more. Not only are these baggies cute, but I like the earth-friendliness of reusable bags. You can make them in less than 30 minutes and the crumbs shake out easily or you can wash them in your dishpan.
