GCode Analyzer/Visualizer by hudbrog Hey everbody, Wanted to show you a little project I've been working on for some time - As you might've guessed by the topic name - it's a GCode visualizer. And I guess at that point most of you are asking why the hell anyone would write another one. Well, mainly because I haven't found a single one that would comply with my humble list of requirements. I mean, most of them allows me to.. well.. visualize GCode file and nothing else.

Getting Started with Three.js ## Introduction I have used Three.js for some of my experiments, and it does a really great job of abstracting away the headaches of getting going with 3D in the browser. With it you can create cameras, objects, lights, materials and more, and you have a choice of renderer, which means you can decide if you want your scene to be drawn using HTML 5’s canvas, WebGL or SVG. And since it’s open source you could even get involved with the project. But right now I’ll focus on what I’ve learned by playing with it as an engine, and talk you through some of the basics. For all the awesomeness of Three.js, there can be times where you might struggle. Free Icons Over 5000 Icons in 77 Icon Sets Speedometer Check In Network Three.js: Importing a Model This post discusses a small piece of code that uses the three.js library to load a 3D collada scene. Upon starting to write this blog post I thought I’d take a look at some of the problems I’d encountered on the way. To my surprise I realised that I probably had enough information for two posts rather than just one. This post will look at the exporting of a 3D model from Blender to be used with three.js. I’ll create another post to look at how I then managed to produce a 3D model in Blender and animate it with three.js. Blender

ProcessingGcodeViewer by m6mafia 3/6/2012 Update: I just uploaded a beta of the new version now with centering and initial Slic3r layer support. There still significant issues with this version so I continue to suggest you use v3 unless you need centering or buggy slic3r support. Hey guys! This is a gcode viewer for makerbot (3D) and 5D gcode written in processing. It's open-source and still a work in progress so if you would like to help out feel free to look at the git: github.com/nmsl1993/ProcessingGcodeViewer. Three.js: Simple Collision Detection I’ve been spending some time trying to work out how to perform basic collision detection with the three.js library. After a combination of Googling, looking at the three.js source code and looking at the sample code on the three.js github pages I’ve managed to get something working. I found the best collision detection example at Mr.Doob’s three.js repository on github. In fact that are a number of examples there.

gcode2vtk - a Makerbot/Reprap/Skeinforge gcode to vtk file converter This program is able to convert your 3d printing gcode to the vtk file format. This file format you can then use to visualize your paths in e.g. paraview In the download, you will find a pre-compiled windows version, and the source. It should compile just by old-fashinoned "make". You can even create animations: Start with a tube filter, then create a threshold of the filament1. View->Animation.

colony Colony is a neat little visualisation tool for exploring Node projects and their dependencies using d3.js. Each file is represented as a node in the graph. If one file depends on another, a link is made between the two files. Each file is coloured based on the module they belong to. Responsive Multi-Level Menu A responsive multi-level menu that shows its submenus in their own context, allowing for a space-saving presentation and usage. Each sub-level in this menu will be shown in its own context, making the “parent” level disappear.

Three.js: Very Basic Animation My previous post described how I created a simplistic 3D model with Blender and how I imported that into a three.js 3D scene. In this post I look at how a Blender model can be loaded and animated with the aid of the three.js library. Oh, it seems a rather long post too.
