Welcome To Connaught Shaving openMaterials | DIY smart materials The Secret to Having a Commanding Presence You know him when you see him – he’s the guy everyone notices when he takes his first three steps into a room. A natural leader. Is it witchcraft, or perhaps just a combination of simple body language tricks you yourself can master. How does “that” guy do it? What does “that” guy have that you don’t? Our culture has advanced a great deal, but we are still often guided by our most primal instincts. Nothing can ever take the place of presence. We are constantly under scrutiny. Posture How come the President never leans back during the State of the Union address as he does in casual conversation? Keep your feet shoulder width apart in a grounded stance, hold your shoulders back, and keep your back straight. Eye Contact The eyes are the windows to the soul. There are some situations in life when a man must show strength. When you sense an argument or confrontation, look the other person straight in the eye focusing on the iris. Body Movement It’s the way of the world. What do you think?

10 Secrets of the Male Mind In the 2000 film "What Women Want," Mel Gibson played an ad executive who gained the ability to hear women's thoughts. This superpower proved helpful on the job with marketing products like pantyhose, mascara and nail polish to women, particularly when it came to stealing his female co-workers' ideas. He discovered his ability to eavesdrop on women's ideas more troubling when it came to his personal life, however, when he learned that many of the women in his life found him to be a shallow, superficial jerk. After his burst of insight into women's innermost desires and dreams, Gibson's character learned how to treat women better. We can't help but wonder what the movie would have been like if the main character had been a woman getting the chance to explore the male brain. Pants, Socks, Boots: Does the Order you Dress in Really Matter? I would argue yes, the order does matter. Something that’s been ingrained in me since my days in BUD/s is the order in which I dress. As I was getting dressed this morning, putting my pants on first, I thought I’d write about why we were taught back in the day to dress in a certain order. The reasoning is this; if you’re suddenly awoken in the middle of the night and have to move out, that muscle memory of putting your pants on first means that you’re somewhat protected from the elements if that’s all you have time to put on. Next is socks, which I feel don’t necessarily stand on their own. With boots being the last thing on the list, you’ve got enough to be able to run, move efficiently and evade if necessary. David Guttenfelder / Associated Press I’ve always been able to see the reasoning behind why we were taught this though and granted it had a lot to do with the time constraints we were under at BUD/s to get our gear on and move out to the next evolution.

10 Ways Men and Women Communicate Differently It's the middle of the day during a long drive. He's sitting at the wheel, cruising along. She's sitting in the passenger seat, reading, glancing up now and then at the passing scenery. Suddenly, she turns to him and cries, "Talk to me!" She's not stir crazy; he's not ignoring her. Girls' friendships focus on making connections -- talk is essential to this process. This differentiation in youth leads to dissimilar communication styles in adulthood. Research indicates that these are the general, even common, tendencies of men and women, but these divides are not absolute. For men and women, communication can be a very long drive, using different roads -- often to get to the same place.Image Credit: Jupiterimages 10. Fingers tapping. The Beginner's Guide to the Paleo Diet So you wanna learn about the Paleo Diet, eh? Here’s the ENTIRE diet in a nutshell: If a caveman didn’t eat it, neither should you. Now, obviously there’s more to it than that, and that’s what I’m going to cover in great detail with this article today. When you are following the Paleo Diet, you can eat anything we could hunt or gather way back in the day – things like meats, fish, nuts, leafy greens, regional veggies, and seeds. Sorry, the pasta, cereal, and candy will have to go! And instead of counting calories and perfectly partitioned portions (say THAT three times fast), you’ll be focusing on eating the right foods instead. And that makes me happy, because I hate counting calories. I don’t like keeping track of how much I’ve eaten or obsessing over how many grams of a particular nutrient I’ve had. Now, this article is SUPER long, so we took the liberty of converting it into a nicely designed guide for easy consumption (not literal consumption, unless you print it on bacon). Ready? Nope.
