Recycled Paper Twiggy Tags - Keeping With The Times Use old paper, dried twigs, and a bit of ink, to create these cute recycled paper twiggy tags! Great for hanging on the Christmas tree or using for tags. I wanted to complement my Dictionary Page Garland, and cardboard snowflakes; re-used, re-cycled, and cheap! sewing 101: recycled paper basket Thanks to a few recent online purchases, I had an enormous pile of long brown packing paper strips in my studio. I couldn’t bear to just recycle it; it seemed to have so much crafty potential. So tasked with the challenge of creating a project to help get organized for the new year, I decided to turn that pile of paper into a woven basket. Folded into strips and edged with stitching, the paper took on a whole new quality that calls to mind upholstery webbing or even leather.

Toilet Paper Roll Wall Art Well that’s a mouthful! So the time has come, it’s Pinterest Challenge time again! Every season Sherry from YHL and Katie from Bower Power throw a little link party to get people to stop pinning things and actually start making. This couldn’t have come at a better time because I have wanted to start this project forever and once Miss Kelly made her way into my kitchen I knew it was time to start it. This was the image I saw that sparked me to start saving my toilet paper rolls. You can find the post here.

Paper beads By Kate on October 30, 2010 I made these paper beads a while ago and dug them out the other day for my eldest son to play with. At three and a half he’s grown out of playing with his chunky threading beads – so these were the perfect replacement. They are so easy to make and surprisingly sturdy. I used some sheets of origami paper to make mine but you can use any kind of paper.

DIY: Tray And Laptop Support A few months ago I was talking to Irene about the fact that I’d have loved to create a makeover onto an everyday fruit basket, like the ones you find at the market. But was quite annoied because having a full time job means not being able to go to the market unless you wake up early saturday morning: ok I love One O but I’m not gonna do this. May it be clear.

page corner bookmarks This project comes to you at the request of Twitterer @GCcapitalM. I used to believe that a person could never have too many books, or too many bookmarks. Then I moved into an apartment slightly larger than some people’s closets (and much smaller than many people’s garages) and all these beliefs got turned on their naïeve little heads. But what a person can always look for more of is really cool unique bookmarks. Placeholders special enough for the books that are special enough to remain in your culled-out-of-spacial-necessity collection. Page corner bookmarks are cute, practical and deeply under-represented in the world.* They’re easy to make, easy to customize, and will set you apart from all those same-same flat rectangular bookmarks.

How to make gift bags from newspaper When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper. I liked it very much and had to make some more—thus today's DIY recycled newspaper project: gift bags made from the Wall Street Journal. You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that's 5" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3" deep. Stack two sheets of newspaper on top of each other. This will be a two-ply bag for extra sturdiness. Cut out a rectangle that's 15.5" wide and 8.25" tall.
