The Art of OaKoAk

The Art of OaKoAk
Some of the best street art has humor built into it. In the case of French street artist, OaKoAk, they take what the city gives to them and creates a witty street piece. Who hasn't wanted to turn a tile doorstep into a piano, or a sewer cover into a Viking's shield? A lot of these pieces are simple statements done very well. We like the Gameboy one especially. Weird. Do you like it? tonal value Painters do not have the apparatus problems of a photographer, but they do face a similar value design problem: anchoring the middle value of a painting in a way that communicates the intended feeling of light or dark without sacrificing a complete representation of the tonal range. Our visual system naturally adjusts to the average luminance in our environment to produce the best visual representation. Because this adaptation also affects the appearance of any physical gray scale, the key to the value design of a painting lies in the distribution of gray values across the luminance range.

Skelewags - Urban Art (by @baekdal) #design Written by Thomas Baekdal | Thursday, August 30, 2007 This cartoon concept by "Chewie" is great - mixing real world environments with cartoon characters. The style with skull like cartoon figures are not that special, but the overall style is. "Chewie" has been very quiet about what this project is really about. I guess we will just have to wait and see. (via ConceptArt Forum) Gothic Architecture Pictures - stock photos and fine art prints - StumbleUpon All text and pictures © QT Luong. The Tire Art of Wim Delvoye For his series titled "Pneu", Belgian artist Wim Delvoye created a series of decorative objects by hand-carving intricate patterns and floral motifs on used car tires. Through his manipulation of found objects, Delvoye transforms things that seem useful in everyday life into sculptural pieces that carry a different value from their original intended purpose. Delvoye calls his own approach to art ‘glocal’, referring to ‘local’ and ‘global’, which is his own ironical way of describing art.
