50 Stunning Examples Of Reflective Photography Using reflections in photography can lead to some amazing effects and beautiful images. Using water, windows, mirrors or any sort of reflective surface can change an image into a work of art. The wonderful thing about using reflections when taking photos is that they can completely alter the image from something fairly straightforward to something richer or abstract or otherwise more artistic. Sometimes reflections can be annoying and certainly not artistic. But creativity and good-quality photos depend on the photographer being able to see things differently, rather than seeing only one part of a larger whole. Also, using reflected light can vastly improve the quality of lighting available. Whether you choose to use reflection in an artistic way or as a source of lightning, learning to use reflections in photography will help take your photographic skills to the next level. Below we present over 50 beautiful examples of reflective photography. Showcase Of Photos With Reflections: Mik13

Photographic Composition | What is composition? Position your subject at the intersection of those lines and it will be placed one third of the way from the sides, both top and bottom. This is illustrated in the image above of an old abandoned windmill in France. Some cameras have a means whereby you can actually see a grid in your viewfinder which will help you position your subject. Another way to apply the Rule of Thirds is by cropping the picture afterwards. Here is the shot again (below) after being cropped but without the grid lines. Note that when cropping it helps to keep the dimensions in the same ratio as the original otherwise you end up with a series of photographs of odd sizes which tends to look a bit amateurish. The last shot below is of a second windmill which I took after moving around the field a bit. According to Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004): "...it is seldom indeed that a composition which was poor when the picture was taken can be improved by reshaping it in the dark room." Top of Page

Anything Worth Seeing / ANTILIMIT Visual Weight and Room Size - How visual weight affects how small your room appears Have you ever encountered two pieces of furniture that are approximately the same size but one seems heavier that the other? In fact, one seemed to take up more space than the other. I am not talking about actual weight or size. I am talking about visual weight - heaviness and size perceived by the eye and sent to the brain as truth. Dark vs. By keeping visual weight in mind, you can fool the eye into thinking rooms are bigger or smaller and more or less crowded - a good thing to keep in mind when you have to come up with a design for an 8 foot by 8 foot room!

How to grow a Rainbow Rose, Naturally In 2004, two dutch companies, River Flowers and F.J. Zandbergen, experimented and successfully grew a rose that had its petals rainbow colored. As petals get their nourishment through stem, the idea is to split the stem into several channels and dip each one in a different colored water. This way all the colors will be drawn by the stem into petals and resultant rose will have all the colors in it. The same method can be applied to other flowers especially to Chrysanthemum and Hydrangea. You can use the same idea to color any flower, anyway you like. Premiere Pro CS5 Time Lapse Test With the T2i 550D This video is as “fun as watching paint dry”. I want to get in to the habit of doing at least one time lapse each month. Since I have been using Premiere and had no idea how to do a time lapse using this program (like I did with Sony Vegas) I thought it would be a good exercise to see how it was done. In the future I will do a video on how I created this video, but since I am high on paint fumes right now I will save that for another day. For an extra bonus, I tried to key out the green paint for a little bit of this test, but as the paint drys quickly so does it color so it didn’t work that well. Drag the Shutter I am trying to get better at dragging the shutter. Music by Kevin MacLeod.

Glass Beach - The Dump You'll Want to Visit - Unfinished Man - StumbleUpon Before you say anything about the content of this article, I hate people who litter. I’ll judge you if I think you’re too lazy to recycle. I hate pollution and the death of our fragile ecosystems and all the rest. It’s like a little Inuksuk… I’ve been trolling around for lesser known landscapes to road trip to and explore, and stumbled across this chunk of multicoloured west coast paradise. These days, Glass Beach is a protected part of MacKerricher State Park, but in 1949, it was the site of an unrestricted dump. Eventually, California realized that dumping automobiles, appliances, toxic substances and razor sharp shards of glass into the water was probably a bad idea, and looked elsewhere for a dumping site. The beaches under the cliffs lay polluted, cluttered and ruined, and were basically treated as a forgotten ‘mistake.’
