DIY Vinyl Wall Art I live in an apartment and dig doing large-scale art. Apartments, however, are usually a pain to paint and then paint to cover-up your awesome paint, and an especially big pain when you move around as often as I do. I do like having bright, interesting spaces, so I was brainstorming on creating a large art piece that I could maybe mount on the wall, or other types of removable decor, and the universe smiled on my with inspiration from one of my favorite blogs: Nest did a neat post on using contact paper to make wall decals. With contact paper as my medium, a Tim Burton-esque / Tokyo Plastic vision of swirls, and a hot afternoon (or AC busted that weekend with temps in the 90s!) This is my very first instructable, and I hope you enjoy it. (Edit 1: Added pricing to supplies list. ) (Edit 2: Added bamboo close up images and peeling images.)

Everything you need to know about Parallax - Productivedreams.com If you are looking for a definition of parallax, here it goes. As far as the web (especially design) industry is concerned, parallax is the arrangement/animation of images in a way that lets you feel the distance between them. For example, imagine that you are looking through the window of a moving vehicle. You will see the objects closer to you moving faster compared to the distant ones. The sun stays still while the trees, buildings and other objects move. In this post I would like to walk you through different posts, examples and tutorials that would help you achieve this effect. This technique was initially used in 2d video games and now mostly seen in single page portfolio websites and website headers. I would like to show you a few hand-picked websites that uses parallax before I proceed. Eric J – This is one of my favorite websites using Parallax in the way it should be. Markus Neidel – This is an awesome 3d vertical parallax (flash). Create a Parallax Website Header

Read on to learn how to print your own posters, shirts, or whatever you fancy printing on, and how the Virgin Mary and Spiderman join forces to help her out. Photoshop Tutorials | A Scrap Of Notebook Paper Step 1 Lets begin by opening a new document in Photoshop by selecting File>New from the Main Menu. My file size is 540x300px at 72ppi for those of you following along at home. Because our notepad paper will be white, lets begin by changing the document’s background color. With the new document open, click on the foreground swatch in the Tools palette to bring up the color picker. Step 2 Lets go ahead and assume that we’re going to use this scrap paper to hold a note to our readers in the sidebar of our imaginary blog. Create a new layer by clicking the Create New Layer icon at the bottom of your layers palette. Step 3 Now it’s time to create the initial shape of the paper. Choose the Rectangular Marquee tool from the Tools palette by pressing the M key, then drag out a rectangular selection onto the stage. Step 4 Step 5 Now we’re going to create the holes and tear-lines at the top of the paper using a combination of a circular and rectangular selection at the same time. Step 6 Step 7 Step 8

Computer e Internet, le migliori guide su Saperlo.it Arte Taller 54 El propio Renoir decía: "la naturaleza lleva al artista a la soledad; yo quisiera vivir entre los hombres", por lo que observamos que en su producción los paisajes están siempre poblados de personas como en esta bella escena. Dos figuras situadas en primer plano, a la sombra, sirven de antesala al espectacular lago soleado que aparece al fondo. Con seguridad y maestría, Renoir ha sabido transmitir la alegría y el calor estival. Los colores son especialmente vivos, destacando el amarillo, el rojo y el verde, aplicados con una pincelada rápida. La luz tomada directamente del natural diluye los contornos y aboceta las figuras, lo que llevará a la pérdida de la forma. Nació en Gundivós- Sober (Lugo) y reside en Madrid. Saltó a la fama por su técnica del retrato, inmortalizando a personajes como la Infanta Elena o el dedicado a Enrique Santín. Destaca también su obra “Oficios da nosa terra”, representando escenas artesanales de Galicia que recoge en un libro temático. Eric Christensen </b>*}

Create a Vibrant Blueprint in Photoshop In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a blueprint that is based off another image. The techniques used are simple and can be used on a lot of designs. What We Will Be Creating The tracing technique that we are going to be using to create the final result shown below can be used in a wide variety of designs. Getting Setup To begin, create a new document in Photoshop (mine is 590x350px since the image I’m tracing is small). Document Size and Guides Keep in mind that the blueprint will be larger than the image being traced. An easy way to create guides at the center of your document is to make a selection of the entire document: Select > All (Ctrl+A). Let’s create a background for the design. Foreground: #333333 Background: #111111 Once the colors have been selected, grab the Gradient Tool (G) and, on the background layer, drag from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. Photoshop Tutorials | Electrifying Glow Album Art Introduction This tutorial is a bit involved and assumes that you are proficient enough in Photoshop to follow along without me holding your hand. That being said, lets jump right in. Step 1 I took this photo at a show The Killers played at Madison Square Garden in New York this past summer… packed house, great crowd… anyway, here’s the photo. Lets first start by drawing a nice curvy path with the pen tool that we’ll use as our main wrapping glow line. Step 2 Create a new layer called "First Stroke" and switch to the Brush tool. Step 3 With your tool of choice remove the sections along the stroke that should be behind your subject. Step 4 Add an Inner and Outer Glow as shown below. Step 5 Duplicate the "First Stroke" layer, clear the layer styles and add a 6px Gaussian Blur. Step 6 Create a new layer called "Particles", activate the Path we created earlier and switch to the Brush tool. Step 7 Copy the layer style from the "First Stroke" layer and paste them into the "Particles" layer. Step 8

Photoshop Tutorials | Sticker Edge Peel Step 1 First let me say this is not a sticker making tutorial so you’ll need to have your own sticker prepared or download the source files at the end of the lesson where I’ve added a second file with a pre-made sticker for you. How nice am I! Ok, so I’m starting with a new document 540x300pixels at 72ppi, then filling the background color with a light gray so we can see the difference between the stage and the edge of our white sticker. Click on the foreground swatch in the Tools palette and enter the color code #e4e4e4 in the field at the bottom then click OK to set this as your new foreground color. Press Command-Delete (PC: Ctrl-Backspace) to fill the Background layer with the foreground color then open your sticker file and drag your sticker onto the new documents stage. Step 2 Add a drop shadow to the Sticker layer by double clicking to the right of the layer’s name in the layers palette to bring up the Layer Styles dialog box. Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Step 9 Step 10 Step 11

Photoshop Tutorials | Electrifying Text Step 1 Open a new file 600 x 300 at 72dpi and fill the background with black. Select the text tool (T) and type the lettering you want to effect on the stage. I’m using Helvetica 80pt Bold in this example. Step 2 Duplicate the Wind layer by pressing Command+J (CTRL+J on PC) and call this new layer Text. Hide the new Text layer by clicking the little eye icon in the box to the left on the layers paette and click back to the Wind layer. Step 3 Next we are going to apply the Wind filter to our Wind layer by selecting it from the filters menu (Filter>Stylize>Wind) and choosing the Wind and From The Right options. Now rotate the layer back to normal (Edit>Transform>Rotate 90° CCW) and repeat the previous steps blowing wind in each direction twice. Step 4 While still on the Wind layer apply the Ripple filter (Filter>Distort>Ripple). Click on the foreground color in the tools palette and pick a nice shade of blue, I used #1942aa for this example. Step 5 Lesson Files + Additional Resources
