Opera by David Leventi Opera by David Leventi While our obsession with amazing modern theaters is well documented, we certainly appreciate the sense of architectural history shown in the photography of David Leventi. Leventi has traveled the world over, photographing classic music hall architecture for his series aptly titled “Opera”. Chris George blog Loopydave on deviantART The Surf by Stuart Gibson The Surf by Stuart Gibson Photographer Stuart Gibson has found a lovely muse in the rough waters off the coast of Tasmania, Australia. The force of the surf on sand has created some incredible images, with daring sport surfers as a focal point. These photos are filled with the power of nature– the monstrous curve of the waves, the rocky coast in the background and the graceful surfer within. Together, they make for an apt metaphor of the survival of man against nature, so subtly symbolized within each frame. [stuart gibson via thegrafikmuseum and mosaic]

annette marnat John Watkiss The mind's eye: How the brain sorts out what you see - 25 August 2010 Can you tell a snake from a pretzel? Some can't – and their experiences are revealing how the brain builds up a coherent picture of the world AFTER her minor stroke, BP started to feel as if her eyes were playing tricks on her. TV shows became confusing: in one film, she was surprised to see a character reel as if punched by an invisible man. Sometimes BP would miss seeing things that were right before her eyes, causing her to bump into furniture or people.
