DIY Gift: Terrarium Kit November 30th, 2012 It’s widely accepted that terrariums are awesome, which means they also make awesome gifts. It’s hard to wrap a terrarium though, so a DIY kit is the perfect solution. To make your kit, first put about an inch of small stones in the bottom of a jar. Print a 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ terrarium instruction card on card stock, and cut it out (download printable cards here—for personal use only please). If you’re feeling ambitious you could make a few polymer clay mushrooms to include in your terrarium kit. Tie some twine or ribbon around the jar, and you’re done. DIY TRAVEL MEMENTO BOXES 29th April 2014 One of the best things about travelling is collecting small memories and mementos from your trip. In my mind there’s nothing better than having things around the house that remind me of the places I’ve been and the things I’ve done – those little memories certainly make a longggg, rainy, ‘I wish I was anywhere but here‘ Monday just that more bearable. But the more places you travel, the more likely you are to have mountains of mementos all stuffed together gathering dust in a drawer, I know I do! Recently, Loctite and I got together for the Loctite Repair Network to create an essential for any wanderluster – a set of memento boxes that will keep your travel collections safe and organised. The best part? Pin It All you need to do this project is a few small boxes (I used recycled DVD boxes), a few maps and the right glue, and you’re good to go! little guiding stars Since the new year has started I’ve been trying to think of ways to be more kind to my self. Especially when that nasty gremlins try to creep in and stump me. I remembered this origami star video on You Tube and had to get them involved in my plan. I thought it would be fun to make a whole bunch with kind words and “you are….” phrases inside. I made 60 of them, enough to last me the whole year if I open one a week, plus a few extra just in case. I used 12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper and cut 1/2 x 12″ strips, then followed the video HERE*. *UPDATE! Be Sociable, Share! Sugar Scrubs Recipes *December 13, 2012 Update: I have had many of you wanting the labels to download…Great News! They are now available and you can get them by clicking on this link: Peppermint Candy Cane Sugar Scrub Labels You will notice that you have to Like my Face Book page to get it. As always I really appreciate the loyalty of my fans! Guess what? Sugar Scrubs are a great way to add some moisture and soften up winter-dry skin. I simply took two cups of white granulated Sugar and mixed in a 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup Almond Oil (Coconut Oil will work too). Once you have it all mixed together you will want to divide the scrub into two equal parts and in separate containers. Make a large funnel out of a piece of paper (a small one will not allow enough room for the sugar scrub to pass through it) and add a small amount into the jar. Then add a white layer so that they are about the same height and flatten it. You can buy Peppermint Essential Oils from my favorite DoTerra Rep here: Peppermint Essential Oil
1. 2. 3. 4. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. doodle easter eggs I've got lots of Easter projects to share and to start with is a SUPER simple way to create pretty eggs. Forget about color and keep things simple with black and white doodles! I started by poking a hole and blowing out the yolk. and then I went to town with my favorite supply ever- a black sharpie! I doodled my way across the surface of the eggs with flowers, paisleys and all kinds of simple designs. The outcome is a very simple and pretty Easter egg. Breakfast Hostess Gift | Banana Bread and Honey Butter It is important for us to be as gracious of a guests as you are when you’re the one hosting the party. When you’re invited to someone’s home for dinner or a party, it is always appropriate to bring a hostess gift - the obvious choices being flowers and wine.
