Card-Blanc by Kathy Martin: Crochet Day Over the weekend I finished my latest crochet project....this colorful sampler scarf. It started out to be a blanket, but I decided to make it into a scarf because I thought it was too fun and colorful not to! I almost can't wait until winter to wear it! ;) I think I'll still make a blanket a little later. Aren't these colors and stitches fun?
wonderfuldiy There’s really no such thing as having too many baby blankets — something every parent would probably agree on! This is why one of the most amazing gifts any well-wisher can offer a baby or toddler of any age is a stunningly beautiful handmade baby blanket – a genuine one-of-a-kind never to be repeated. But while there are thousands of different ways a baby blanket can be crocheted … well, let’s just say we think we’ve found the pick of the bunch! What you’re looking at here is a wholly unique 6 petal puff flower baby blanket, which is less a useful accessory and more a work of art in its own right! So as you can see, the spiral forms because you don’t slip stitch and chain to start each new row – they’re just made in continuous strips around and around in a circle. Blooming Flower Cushion Here is my tutorial showing how to construct this wonderful layered flower and then make it into a Blooming Flower cushion/pillow. First of all I would like to say that this pattern is not my own. I found it via Two Butterflies blog. In this blog post, Jennifer shows her own creation and gives a link to the original pattern which is actually a vintage potholder design from the 1940's. The original pattern is short and sweet and written in US terms.
Chevron Scarf Stripes… Tricky… Well they’re tricky to me. I have looked, with envy, at the work of others who seem to be able to combine colours so easily. Sadly I’ve yet to develop a successful eye at this – it’s all trial and error… lots of errors! This month my club pattern is a chevron scarf and I’ve worked hard to come up with a couple of colourways that I think work well – a bright option and a more muted option.
