Classroom resources are available in print, digital textbook formats, and online. They can be paid for, subscribed to, or downloaded for free. How To Use APA Format in Powerpoint Much like how citations in term papers are organized based on formal rules, citations in PowerPoint presentations follow the APA format. Whether the references are based on printed text or online sources, the APA format is essential for researchers to track the origins of the facts mentioned in the presentation. Here are the steps for using the APA format in PowerPoint. Mention an author’s name and the date of publication after you use his research in your slide. (Maxwell, 1999), for example, means you have used text from Maxwell’s book which was published in 1999. Don’t forget to contain the citation and parenthesis and end it with a period.Use quotation marks for text directly lifted from an author’s work.

How to Break Up Your Novel into Definable Sections Last week I started diving into the three-act structure and explained that such structure is random and arbitrary. While many writing instructors swear by this structure, I feel it’s too pat and restrictive to be a “one size fits all,” and, really, it’s the story that should determine how many acts it needs. And even with that, it’s up to the writer to decide if he wants to break his story up into acts or sections. This isn’t just about “breaking up” a story or creating actual parts to a novel. While I’m going to share more examples of this, be aware that fashioning your story into sections is extremely helpful, and it’s something you can do without labeling them as such for your readers.

Open Educational Resources: Equity & Opportunities The NAACP’s embracing of open education resources (OER), as detailed in the 2016 Advocacy to Promote Use of Open Education Resources Resolution, suggests a way forward that brings together the resources and knowledge of state education agencies and the grassroots influence of civil rights advocates. Together, they can create the conditions that can advance the use of OER in schools across the state—which, in turn, can help create better educational opportunities for every student. Among the strategies these coalitions may consider: Establish a state-level OER task force to explore how open resources are being used in the state and make recommendations for increasing awareness, investment, training, and the use of OER. Bring together a broad coalition.

Free Online Historical Geology Curriculum Legal Disclaimer Welcome to the Old Earth Ministries Online Earth History Curriculum (also known as "Historical Geology"). Most schools, including public, private, and homeschools, teach courses in world history, United States history, state history, and Biblical history, but they don't teach the history of the world before mankind. This course details the basic scientific understanding of the earth's history, from its formation approximately four and a half billion years ago (Day One of God's creative timescale), until the creation of Adam, which represents the end of God's creative works. This curriculum presupposes that students are high school level, and have completed the online geology curriculum. If you have not, you may still take this curriculum.

Novel Plotting Worksheet Want to help support the author? There are hundreds, possibly thousands of articles on novel plotting on the web. There are a few plotting worksheets, with spaces and questions for you to fill in your own work – some of them are good. But I couldn’t find what I wanted, so I decided to make it and share it with you all. The “Plotting Worksheet” is for writers who have scattered ideas (maybe a conflict + its resolution) that need to be worked into a basic plot structure. It is 1 page, bare bones, easy to view at a glance. What is OER? - Creative Commons What are Open Educational Resources (OER)? Open educational resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, research, and other purposes. Open Education "...is the simple and powerful idea that the world’s knowledge is a public good and that technology in general and the Web in particular provide an extraordinary opportunity for everyone to share, use, and reuse knowledge." —The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation OER Definitions The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
