Tor Lillqvist--PSPI: Running Photoshop plug-ins in GIMP PSPI is a GIMP plug-in that runs 3rd-party Photoshop plug-in filters. I wrote it in 2001, and it initially worked on Windows only. Then nothing much happened until March 2006 when it became available also on Linux. All that was needed, basically, was for somebody to try building it using winegcc. Possibly building and running it on Linux might have worked already years ago, but nobody tried... Thanks to Mukund for trying it on Linux and reporting the success! Where to find Photoshop plug-in filters that are any good? Google is your friend. There are some exceptions though. Some magazines that come with "cover" CD-ROMs, like Computer Arts, often include commercial Photoshop filters on the CD-ROMs. Photoshop plug-in filters (for the Windows version of Photoshop, which is what we are talking about here) are actually (32-bit) Windows DLLs, which are dynamically loaded into the plug-in host process's address space. Windows The Windows package includes just pspi.exe. Linux 64-bit Linux Downloads

Digital Blasphemy 3D Wallpaper: Widescreen, Dual-Screen, Triple-Screen, iPhone4, iPad, Droid, XBox360, PS3, HDTV Backgrounds Julie Heffernan from Julie Heffernan’s Constructions of Self Julie Heffernan creates sensuous figurative painting, like co-Yale MFAS, John Currin and Linda Yuskavage, but her luminous oils are patently unique among them and most working artists today. A Victorian impetus to conjoin, edging toward pastiche, creates artfully staged Surrealist environments. They avoid the mawkish or macabre by virtue of an evocative 17th century Baroque styling and the dignity with which she handles her primary subject, herself. Good construction is essential to the success of such works, built of disparate things suggesting disparate philosophies and ages. Yet the finished product is seamless, making it easy for the viewer to willfully suspend disbelief in the face of rampant artifice.
