CBT can also be applied longitudinally to explore the origin of beliefs, rules and assumptions which shape an individual's world-view: this knowledge can then be used to drive change in the present.

Recovering Me I don’t post as often as I used to. I give updates explaining that my health interfere with it and it absolutely does, especially lately. My most important drug (that literally keeps me alive and I have no chance of survival without) keeps going in and out of shortages. It harms my nervous system more each time and lately I’ve had a lot of trouble reading and have to go over something around 10 times before it makes sense. It takes so long I get frustrated and just don’t bother. But my health isn’t the only thing that’s been keeping me from posting. What is Mindfulness? What is mindfulness? The psychologist Jon Kabat-Zinn has described mindfulness as “nonjudgmental awareness of the present moment.” This refers to our ability to notice what we’re experiencing right now without critique or analysis. For example, you might notice the warm breeze caressing our skin or the burst of sweetness when you first bite a grape. Traditionally, in mindfulness meditation, people turn their attention to the process of breathing: simply noticing the cool air that enters your nostrils and the warm air that exits as you inhale and exhale, respectively.

Mood Chart, Mood Journal, Mood Tracker – Free, Online The HealthyPlace Mood Tracker is a unique, easy to use, daily tracking system that enables you to keep track of your moods and the feelings and actions behind them. In addition, the Mood Tracker, using a scientifically validated algorithm, measures when your mood is dangerously depressed or elevated (manic) and will send an alert to your doctor or therapist via email or fax and include a copy of your recent mood journal entries (with your authorization, of course). Our mood journal system can also send a text message alert to a family member or caregiver’s cellphone advising them to look in on you. Many mental health professionals recommend the use of a mood journal as a tool for managing bipolar disorder, depression or other mood disorders. By using the mood tracking system on a regular basis, you can begin to see patterns evolve and learn to detect the early onset of cycles so you can take preventative action. 1.

The Calm Approach By Leo Babauta Yesterday I got a van from my carshare service to drive the family to a friend’s house. I drove down a busy street with a smile on my face, and a peaceful feeling in my body. Now, this isn’t a normal thing for me. All my life, driving has been something stressful, where I tighten up and get anxious about people around me driving the wrong way, being inconsiderate, being too aggressive or driving too slow in the fast lane.
