DIY Pompons en tissu

DIY Pompons en tissu
We recently created this fabric pom pom as a tree topper for an inspiration shoot over at Design*Sponge, but it’s a great DIY project for a wedding as well. They have so many creative uses… hung above tables, chair aisle decor, or an alternative to the expensive flower poms that flower girls use to walk down the aisle. -Ashley of Dolci Odille Supplies: Fabric, scissors, hot glue gun, and chinese lanterns. Step 1: Cut circles out of fabric. Step 2: Fold the circle in half and put a little hot glue on the center, then fold over to secure. Step 3: Apply more hot glue to the bottom of the folded circle. Step 4: Press the bottom of the folded circle with the hot glue onto the chinese lantern. Step 5: Repeat these steps until the whole lantern is covered. Project created by Dolci Odille

Abby & Zach's Piazza Peacock Wedding & Dallas Wedding Photographer Stacy Reeves | Vintage Modern Wedding Photography It has been killing me to hold on to this wedding but I’ve been patiently biding my time, keeping these images quiet. Now that I finally have the go ahead from Style Me Pretty (where the pics will be featured this afternoon), I can show them off! Abby & Zach’s wedding was an awesome one for many reasons. Abby is a photographer herself, so she and I were completely on the same wavelength when it came to many aspects of the wedding day, and she really put a lot of thought into every detail of their wedding. From the tiny ceramic squirrels (Abby and Zach’s favorite animal) to the heart-shaped locks they gave away as favors (a European tradition; both Abby and Zach have lived abroad in Europe), to the clever play on their initials (A & Z) to the vibrant use of purple (Abby’s favorite color), this wedding was all about the couple and the things they love. Because it was a morning ceremony, the day started EXTREMELY early (I arrived about 4:30 AM and the girls were already up and running).

Happy spring, readers! Materials: 4-5 doilies per lamp (preferably round and about 5-6 inches in diameter, depending on the size you want the orb to be. ***Before you start, make sure to wash your doilies by hand with a mild soap and lukewarm water in the sink. Step 1: Take your rubber ball or balloon and place it in a small dish to keep it steady while you work. Step 2: Once you have the doilies arranged how you want them, pour some fabric stiffener onto the palate or wax paper. Step 3: Leave a small area open so that you can insert the LED tea light.

{Wedding Trends} : Braided Hairstyles - Part 2 I LOVE braids! Although until recently, wearing a braided hairstyle was just for the bohemian bride, nowadays, soft, glamorous braided updos are being embraced by classic and modern brides alike! And dispite the fact that some people still consider braids to be an everyday-look, they could easily be adapted to a formal occasion. Case in point: Kate Middletown look at the BOA Olympic Concert. She rocked a super cute braided updo that you may want to borrow for your wedding day (see the pics on my Pinterest account by clicking here). Anyhow, whether one in the front, swept across, or an entire halo, braids add a romantic look to any wedding hair style. Can't get enough of this pretty trend? It’s one of those projects that’s a little bit messy and does take quite a bit of time, but it is so much fun. Plus you have a really cool piece of decor at the end of it. Perfect for parties or around the home, you can paint it up in any colour you want to match your design scheme, and when lit, it looks so pretty, casting lots of patterned twinkly light everywhere. How-to make a Twine Ball Light Garland I’ve seen twine balls used for all sorts of purposes, from chandeliers to dining table decor, so I thought I’d have a go at making a light garland using this idea. I chose to use coloured twine, alternating between pink and purple twine balls. {You will need} {Two} Next I tied a piece of string to the ends of each balloon and then around an old piece of wood which I had balanced across the backs of two chairs in my backyard. {Five} Leave to dry overnight.
