Home << ShoeBox Compressors - The World's Smallest & Lightest 4500 PSI Compressor Cheap Arduino Wireless Communications I was looking for a way to handle wireless communications between two Arduino boards. Other options like Xbee or Bluetooth were going to cost $50 to over $100. Then I found a cheap RF transmitter and receiver at Sparkfun. The total cost is only $9! Here are a few limitations to RF solution: Communications is only one way. The advantages are that it is cheap and it is pretty easy to use. Below are some images showing how I hooked up the receiver and transmitter to two different Arduino boards. Here’s a picture of the my actual bread boarded circuit. Since the receiver is constantly picking up random noise I add a few extra bytes to every data packet. I broke the Arduino code into two files. I did all of my initial testing without any of these improvement and everything worked fine with these devices inside the same room. Add an antenna. I got a lot of help from the transmitter/receiver data sheets, and from this article. I’ll mention an even cheaper idea I had while doing this. Permalink

OpenBeam - An open source miniature construction system by Terence Tam With funding about to close, I will no longer be able to edit the project page here. So, please visit us online at the following locations for the latest updates: - for the latest news and updates. - OpenBeam's webstore and knowledge base. - OpenBeam's parent company. "Lessons learned" from Kickstarter, as well as my writeup on this project's Kickstarter experience, will eventually be blogged here. Introduction: T-Slot extruded aluminum framing systems have been in use throughout the manufacturing and automation industries for machine building, prototyping and robotics applications for the past 30 years. Example of a 60mm Film Maker's rig, built from OpenBeam components I designed OpenBeam to be a low cost construction system aimed at the hobby and Maker market. OpenBeam Extrusion and Joining Plates Off-the-shelf M3 nuts are used - no speciality T-Nuts that costs 30-70 cents each! An OpenBeam trebuchet. Thank you,

At over 1200lbs of pull force, it is likely the strongest magnet available anywhere! These HUGE blocks are no joke. They are extremely powerful and very dangerous, and as such must be handled with extreme caution. They will pinch hard enough to break the skin and could even crush if you get between two of them or one and a piece of metal. This magnet is not a toy and should only be handled by professionals. You must read and understand our Neodymium Magnet Safety Page before ordering these magnets. GROUND SHIPPING ONLY on this item.
