The Physical Appearance of Ancient Israel For years scholars, theologians, and archaeologists have debated the answer to the question, "How did the Israelites look physically?" Although the Bible and other historical documents have left much proof of the physical appearance of the biblical Israelites, much of this information is still unknown to the masses. The popular belief today among Christians, scholars and theologians, is that the people known as "Ashkenazi Jews" are the direct descendants of the biblical Israelites. Can this be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt? The answer to that is NO. Israel is mentioned in the bible over 2,500 times. The history of the Israelite nation began in Egypt, the Land of Ham. One of the first facts the Bible gives us about Israel (Ysrayl in the Hebrew tongue) is in regard to their physical appearance. Ham was one of Noah's three sons, Shem and Japhet were the other two. All four of Ham's sons and their descendants settled in and around the Continent of Africa. Scientist, R.

Hebrew Alphabet The Hebrew and Yiddish languages use a different alphabet than English. The picture below illustrates the Hebrew alphabet, in Hebrew alphabetical order. Note that Hebrew is written from right to left, rather than left to right as in English, so Alef is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and Tav is the last. Letters of the Alefbet Table 1: The Hebrew Alphabet If this sounds like Greek to you, you're not far off! The "Kh" and the "Ch" are pronounced as in German or Scottish, a throat clearing noise, not as the "ch" in "chair." Note that there are two versions of some letters. Vowels and Points Like most early Semitic alphabetic writing systems, the alefbet has no vowels. However, as Hebrew literacy declined, particularly after the Romans expelled the Jews from Israel, the rabbis recognized the need for aids to pronunciation, so they developed a system of dots and dashes called nikkud (points). Table 2: Vowel Points Most nikkud are used to indicate vowels. Vowel points are shown in blue.

The Thirteenth Tribe This book traces the history of the ancient Khazar Empire, a major but almost forgotten power in Eastern Europe, which in the Dark Ages became converted to Judaism. Khazaria was finally wiped out by the forces of Genghis Khan, but evidence indicates that the Khazars themselves migrated to Poland and formed the cradle of Western Jewry. . . The Khazars' sway extended from the Black Sea to the Caspian, from the Caucasus to the Volga, and they were instrumental in stopping the Muslim onslaught against Byzantium, the eastern jaw of the gigantic pincer movement that in the West swept across northern Africa and into Spain. J - Jewish Education & Entertainment (Learn Hebrew, Jewish Games) Akkadians The Akkadians were a Semitic people living on the Arabic peninsula during the great flourishing period of the Sumerian city-states. Although we don't know much about early Akkadian history and culture, we do know that as the Akkadians migrated north, they came in increasing conflict with the Sumerian city-states, and in 2340 BC, the great Akkadian military leader, Sargon , conquered Sumer and built an Akkadian empire stretching over most of the Sumerian city-states and extending as far away as Lebanon. Sargon based his empire in the city of Akkad, which became the basis of the name of his people. This great capital of the largest empire humans had ever seen up until that point later became the city of Babylon, which was the commercial and cultural center of the middle east for almost two thousand years.

The Grail Message by Abdrushin: Thought forms 22. Thought-forms Take a seat in any cafe or restaurant and observe the people sitting at the tables around you. Listen to their conversation and note what they have to say to one another. Go into families; watch your most intimate friends in their hours of leisure when work no longer presses. You will be shocked at the hollowness of their conversations when they cannot talk about their various occupations. It is just in his so-called leisure hours that you can best recognize the real inner man, when his daily work is done and he has lost the outside support provided by his special field of knowledge. They cannot and will not understand that life on earth, with all its pleasures and joys, only gets its real meaning when one has become more or less familiar with the Ethereal World, and knows about the reciprocal actions connecting us with it, for then one no longer has the feeling of being at the mercy of chance. Fools are they who pass this by! In the midst of this mechanism stands man!
