Make Typographic Gift Wrap

Make Typographic Gift Wrap
This year, I vowed to only make or buy handmade holiday gifts for my friends and family, and I've kept to it so far. But wrapping these gifts in commercial paper didn't seem to make much sense, so I wanted to create some handmade gift wrap to match. I happen to think a gift wrapped in newsprint is actually quite attractive, and love the look of text on a package, but wanted to put in a little more effort. So I came up with a cool option that's clean, masculine, and maintains the typographic look of the newsprint. Once I figured it out, it was actually quite easy and quick - less than ten minutes per gift. Here's how to do it: Materials and Tools Brown craft paper or solid wrapping paperA used bookUtility knifePencilScissorsAlphabet templates, available in four typefaces at ManMadeDIY.com/downloadsTracing set-up, such as light source and clear glass or plastic (see below)Glue stick 1. 2. 3. 4a. 4b. 5. 6. Happy Holidays!

DIY Party Animal Candles Hi there, it’s Jenny from Hank + Hunt with a fun and super easy diy today! As soon as I thought of making these I got a huge kick out of naming them Party Animals. Hilarious, but if you hear groaning…it’s coming from my house. Regardless of how cheesy the name is, these turn out awesome. Your kid’s favorite animal holding that birthday candle minus those red eyes that are oh so typical for plastic creatures, awesome. Supplies - plastic animalsplastic candle holdersdrill with 1/8″ drill bitpliersgold spray paint For the plastic animals, you can use any kind you can find. Hold the animal with the pliers and drill a hole straight down, being careful not to pop out the other side. Spray paint the animals in a few light coats, rotating them to cover all sides. I also painted the candle holders to match. That’s it. {Photos by Hank + Hunt for The Sweetest Occasion.}

Specialisms - British Council - LearnEnglish - Professionals In these days of mass tourism it’s difficult to find any destinations that have managed to escape the impact of the tourist industry. It’s harder still to find a beautiful palm tree-filled slice of paradise that has not been irrevocably changed by tourism. And yet Siwa, an idyllic Egyptian oasis, has somehow managed to embrace a very limited amount of tourism and is so far keeping its unique culture and way of life more-or-less intact. 1. Close to the Libyan border, 560 kilometres from Cairo and in the middle of a military zone, Siwa was all but impossible to visit until an asphalt road connecting it to Mersa Matrouh on the Mediterranean coast opened in 1986. A regular bus service to the coastal town meant that a few curious visitors started appearing, after obtaining the then necessary permit, that is. 2. 3. 4.
