Mathematics Until there is time to integrate in to the rest of this page, the time has come to note that development of SEE (Super Equation Editor, a nickname for a set of plugins being developed by Mauno that now far outstrips the notion of a "plain old equation editor") that Colin has created a page to address those tools at Advanced_Maths_Tools (yes, Maths has an "s" which makes the page arguably undiscoverable by people in the US, but Americans don't speak English anyway.) Why is this exciting? Because so many of the tools you (student, pupil, admin) need are handily packaged up in something that approaches a transparent and universal Mathematics interface.

About - Features Seamlessly integrating VoiceThread into your Learning Management System (LMS) is the key to user happiness. VoiceThread works well within a broad range of systems, but the most powerful option is the standard developed by the IMS Global Learning Consortium called Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI). LTI allows VoiceThread to integrate into most major Learning Management Systems, including but not limited to Blackboard, Sakai, Angel, Canvas, Desire2Learn, BrainHoney and Moodle. Single Sign-onAll users access VoiceThread with a single click. Through LTI, VoiceThread will know the context of the user from the LMS, and an account will be created for that person. First name, last name, email address, and role information can all be passed to VoiceThread through LTI.

How to Create Screencasts You Can Be Proud Of A few weeks ago we launched Screenr, a free screencasting application that is easy to use and great for quick tutorials and elearning courses. Embedded Answers (Cloze) question type Embedded answers (Cloze) questions consist of a passage of text (in Moodle format) that has various answers embedded within it, including multiple choice, short answers and numerical answers. There is currently no graphical interface to create these questions - you need to specify the question format using the text box or by importing them from external files. Lots of people suggest that Hot Potatoes software is the easiest way to create Embedded answer (Cloze) questions. Once you have created your questions on your PC, you can then import them into Moodle's quiz module. Question set-up Quandary Home Page Quandary is an application for creating Web-based Action Mazes. An Action Maze is a kind of interactive case-study; the user is presented with a situation, and a number of choices as to a course of action to deal with it. On choosing one of the options, the resulting situation is then presented, again with a set of options. Working through this branching tree is like negotiating a maze, hence the name "Action Maze". Action mazes can be used for many purposes, including problem-solving, diagnosis, procedural training, and surveys/questionnaires. All of these types of use are easier to understand by example than they are to explain, so here are some example exercises.

eXe The eXe project developed a freely available Open Source authoring application to assist teachers and academics in the publishing of web content without the need to become proficient in HTML or XML markup. Resources authored in eXe can be exported in IMS Content Package, SCORM 1.2, or IMS Common Cartridge formats or as simple self-contained web pages. eXe grew out of the New Zealand Government Tertiary Education Commission's eCollaboration Fund and was led by the University of Auckland, The Auckland University of Technology, and Tairawhiti Polytechnic. It was later supported by CORE Education, a New Zealand-based not-for-profit educational research and development organisation. E-xcellence Next Home E-learning has become mainstream provision in European higher education and is essential in supporting lifelong learning and internationalisation.
