Inexpensive scarves holder idea - Irina's Photography and beyond After I received Eugenie's gift, I had to come up with an idea how to organize all my scarves. I have quite a few of them. I know if I put them in a box or drawer, I'll forget about them, and will never wear :) I've seen the idea on Internet how to organize scarves, and... to keep them in the place where I can see them :) It's just $2 dollars scarves holder made of a hanger and shower curtain rings. I got them from dollar store $1 each set (12 rings and 6 hangers) First, I taped the rings to the hanger. Then, I taped the rings to each other. It was enough of them to add second layer, and the holder is ready :)
Trash to Tool Caddy - Using a Six Pack Carrier Recently my family and I picked up some Japanese take-out. They sent home our miso soup in a six pack carrier (way to reduce/reuse guys!). After dinner I got to thinking that I could just cover it with some pretty paper and make something useful out of it. So I did just that. I started by taping the carrier so it wouldn't fold up, then cut out a piece of paper big enough to wrap around the carrier, leaving a little extra at the top and bottom edge. Then I folded the edges over at the top and bottom. I also covered all the raw edges on the top and sides of the handle with paper. I measured the height, width and depth of the inside sections, cut out pieces of cardstock, and scored them (by running the cutting blade very lightly over the cardstock) to make them easier to fold accurately. I glued on the cardstock pieces for the handle then inserted the rectangular pieces into the carrier (in a triangular shape to make them easier to get in), opened them out and glued the sides together.
Felted Sweater Cowl - Mrs. Polly Rogers | Decorate, Make, Create! | Mrs. Polly Rogers | Decorate, Make, Create! Let’s felt old sweaters and make cowl scarves! A perfect gift for you and some of your friends and family! They are quick and easy to make, too! You can see me demonstrate how to make Felted Sweater Cowls here on Polly TV: So first find a wool or cashmere sweater that you can felt (find them in your closet, your hubby’s closet, or thrift stores). If the hubby can felt my striped green sweater without even trying, we can certainly do it on purpose!! Next cut above the bottom ribbing (if there is any—if there isn’t don’t cut and you won’t have to hem it!) Hem both the top and bottom (of the center section above), by folding over the edge twice and sewing a quick hem stitch. Then make some Fuzzy Felted Balls out of a few inches of 100% wool (feltable) yarn! Then all you’ll need to do is stitch the Fuzzy Felted Balls on with matching thread. Wear a couple at a time for warmth and cuteness! And remember that cowls pull up over your head to keep you warm when it’s extra cold outside!

EVOLUTION OF A BED PT.1 Aww yeah...this is about the construction of beds. You're super intrigued...right? Derp. Sorry to disappoint. Beds in dorm rooms...stink. This isn't actually my room, but it's pretty darn close furniture-wise. There are so many limitations to decorating a room with something other than posters. Despite all these rulez, this year I REALLY outdid myself with trying to modify the bed to be something splendid. Voila. Yup. Anyhoo, this bad boy was constructed as such: 1. The accoutrements: I tied the middle curtains back with some string, so as to not get too cozy and thus never go to class in the morning. And if you're wondering, it passed inspection. Fire Safety Guy #1: This doesn't look regulation. And there you have it. But that was just the beginning.
