Connecting a world of audio

Connecting a world of audio
Have you ever wanted to take the audio output of one piece of software and send it to another? How about taking the output of that same program and send it to two others, then record the result in the first program? Or maybe you're a programmer who writes real-time audio and music applications and who is looking for a cross-platform API that enables not only device sharing but also inter-application audio routing, and is incredibly easy to learn and use? If so, JACK may be what you've been looking for. JACK is system for handling real-time, low latency audio (and MIDI). It runs on GNU/Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, OS X and Windows (and can be ported to other POSIX-conformant platforms).

Simple DVB with Gstreamer and GNU Radio - MyLabWiki This article describes a simple video broadcasting setup based on Gstreamer, GNU Radio and the Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). Overview Linux Software [rtlsdr.org wiki] Options for free software in Linux are: GNURadio is an excellent but unwieldy piece of software for use with RTLSDR. It's the only software for now that will receive analogue (FM, AM, sideband) and digital modes such as AP25, FSK and ADS-B. Be warned it's not very easy to drive but if you are canny you can use it to build your own software defined radio.

Burning .cue and .flac files to audio CDs (Linux & Windows) - posted by Admin at BitBurners.com A combination of .flac and .cue files is a highly popular format in backing up or sharing music. It is especially suitable for creating backups of your music collection, as it offers 100% original sound quality, unlike for example the MP3 format. The .flac audio files are typically accompanied by a .cue file, which is used to store the CD track layout information. Handling these files however can sometimes be a bit tricky, especially on the Linux platform. Free Mastering Software For Windows & Mac! After spending more than a year creating the Free VST Plugins section, I’ve decided to create a specialized list of my favorite free mastering software tools in VST/AU plugin format for Windows and Mac. I’ve listed all of the plugins which I use frequently while mastering tracks for the Reminiscence Audio label and sorted them by type for easy reference. There may be some better commercial plugins out there, but the freeware plugin scene is so strong nowadays that you can do a great mastering job without spending a dime. Of course, you will need a properly treated room, as well as proper monitoring gear. And of top of that you will need lots of knowledge and experience in order to truly grasp the process of audio mastering. I can’t really help you with those!

Software Defined Radio (SDR) on the EzTV645 w/ RTL2382U and FC0013 Due to much of my own issues with setting this USB dongle up, I thought it should take the time and write my own version of the installation. Take note that this installation is for Windows 7, and not linux (if that wasn’t already apparent). I will also list all of my references below, which may end up solving some problems people were having. First find a place to order the dongle at a reasonable price. I got mine from DealExtreme at a price of just shy under $20.

RTLSDR: My First SDR! « AndrewNohawk A few weeks ago (I’ve been meaning to do this post for ages, few weeks ago is give or take 2 months) there was a post on reddit regarding a new software defined radio that cost around $20. After reading a few topics on the discussion (now all avail at now ) my interest was peaked. RF was a whole new world of WTF for me. I think it offers the same awe and wonder that I had putting a tape into my very first tape into my vomit brown fischer-price tape player:
