Two apps that will transform your life Rather than writing a column this week, I'm using this space to pitch two software ideas I've had: ideas I'd turn into real programs if I had either the expertise or patience to do so. My hope is that a talented programmer will stumble across this page, make them a reality, and then be forced to give me a cut of the profits, absolutely none of which will be donated to a good cause. I'm fishing for coins, basically. If you don't like that, leave. Idea 1: Blackmailr™ Let's face it, efficiency is boring. Still, only the most tedious nazi finds it easy to complete chores without some kind of sword of Damocles hanging over them. Enter the ultimate productivity app – Blackmailr. Having compiled this humiliating gallery, the program immediately encrypts these pictures and stores them in a secret corner of your hard drive where you can't reach them. Then and only then do you actually start working. Idea 2: Super Goodinator™ There you go.
Lion and dachshund are best friends [7 pictures] Five years ago, at an Oklahoma exotic animal park , a lion was born with a bone disease that left him somewhat less than fully abled. A 2-year-old dachshund took notice of the cub’s infirmity and brought the little guy into his pack of other dachshunds. Now, as 5- and 7-year-olds, the two animals are like inseparable brothers, playing and cuddling and eating their meals of raw meat together. It doesn’t seem to bother them at all that one is a 500-pound lion and the other an 11-pound wiener dog… (via The Daily Mail )

3D Paintings on Panes of Glass Using multiple layers of clear glass, Canada based David Spriggs and Chinese born Xia Xiaowan, transform flat artwork into 3D sculptures. Viewers are treated to different shifting perspectives of the works based on where they stand in the art space. Spriggs work revolves around powerful explosive imagery, often resembling storms, cosmic blasts or firework like explosions. Xiawan’s “spatial paintings,” which often feature distorted figures, are drawn individually using colored pencil on tinted glass. Only when these pieces are combined on their floor racks do the images create the whole hologram like effect.
