Fidgety Fingers: START WEAVING MAGAZINE COASTERS The woven magazine coaster is something easy to make. It makes a great gift too. Many friends have asked how it is made. We have taken time to compile some photographed steps. This will help some of you who want to experiment... Take a piece of magazine spread and measure it by a quarter. {Valentines day} pixelated popup card I‘ve been scratching my head trying to come up with a card for my hubby {AKA the non-romantic type}. I finally decided to make this pixely popup heart card! They are really minimal (which I love) and take about 20 minutes to make (that includes the card, insert and envelope). You can even make some pixely confetti to put inside the card (if you are a big kid like me!). Full instructions and printable templates below!

15 DIY Ideas to Cure Spring Fever Rumor has it that spring is just a couple of weeks out, although truth is we typically don’t see real spring until at least April here in our neck of the woods in the northeast. Even though it has been about 15° every day so far this week (actually not an exaggeration), I am definitely starting to get that spring itch. The one where I want to throw open the windows, scrub every last inch of the house, spend an afternoon arranging plants in little pots, painting a room a fresh new color, changing out all the linens and generally just freshening things up. Basically, I’ve got spring fever.

Rick Rack Rosettes A friend gave me this flower ring and necklace, when she handed them to me I thought they were porcelain–there’s a very vintage feel to them. From a distance you really can’t tell that they’re made out of rick rack! Yes, rick rack! She shared how to make them with me, and now I’m sharing with all of you readers! TetraBox Light by Ed Chew Liquid to Light Designer Ed Chew takes a green step in the right direction with the TetraBox lamp, a light object made from discarded drink packets that would have otherwise ended up in landfills already packed to the brim. The design is achieved by unfolding the packets and refolding them into hexagonal and pentagonal sections that are then pieced together to form a geodesic sphere or any other desired shape. Here, the Epcot-like ball makes an attractive overhead light and casts an impressive web of shadows and shapes on the surrounding space. Designer: Ed Chew

DIY Wooden Bead Keychain Last week on Instagram I shared a little peek of today’s DIY project so I’m excited to share it with you! This is one of those DIY ideas that I love best. Simple, fun, easy to do and seriously so cute when it’s all done. Somewhere along the way I amassed a whole bunch of wooden beads, intending to come up with something fun to do with them and behold, today I bring you these adorable wooden bead keychains! These are a cinch to make and kind of remind me of an updated version of a classic summer camp craft.

the sphinx & the milky way: confetti systems It is fun, sparkly, simple, festive, and pretty! all wrapped into one! What could be better? I would love a room full of it! Project 11 Week 17 – Shredded Newspaper Lantern Most people have a paper lantern or two lying around the house, but they can get pretty boring very quickly, so this week’s project is focused on rethinking that old standard! I had the newspaper already shredded from an old school project (for anyone who cares, its The New York Times). Many of the pieces are simply black and white text, but there is also a lot of color. I made a mixture of water, glue, and some Mod Podge and just started laminating the pieces on there. I did about 1/4 of the lantern the first night, and left it to dry only to wake up the next day and find that I hadn’t used enough glue and all the pieces had curled up and were falling off. So I rubbed the failed pieces off, and started again.
