Cercle Généalogique de l'Eure Man and His Dog Spend 10 Years Carving a Giant Cave | meltbuzz Artist Ra Paulette and his dog have spent the last 10 years working in complete isolation from the outside world everyday, walking into New Mexico’s desert to work on a project that will leave you speechless. Paulette spends his days inside a sandstone cave that he discovered in the desert, intricately carving patterns and designs into its walls. Only accompanied by his dog the artist has created a cave in which each cavern is textured and designed differently. The purpose of the project was to create a space where “spiritual renewal and personal well being” can be found. The cave will be used as an art venue when it is complete. share

This Scary Puppy-Sized Spider Is A Nightmare Machine | meltbuzz If you haven’t had any nightmares lately, let me help you out a little bit. Let me introduce you to the very appropriately-named South American Goliath birdeater. The little guy is genuinely the size of a small puppy and because of its claws it makes a spine-chilling clicking sound as it scampers through its habitat. Harvard etymologist Piotr Naskrecki recently had the pleasure of coming across a Goliath birdeater in Guyana. Every time I got too close to the birdeater it would do three things. and if that wasn’t enough… If that wasn’t enough, the arachnid would rear its front legs and open its enormous fangs, capable of puncturing a mouse’s skull, and tried to jab me with the pointy implements. If you’ve made it this far; bravo, here’s some photos courtesy of Mr Nasrecki: photos
