Want Glowing Skin In 3 Weeks? Start With Your Digestion If you're working toward more radiant and glowing skin, you might be surprised to know that the answer lies more in your digestive tract rather than on how much you're spending on creams and cleansers. If we look a bit closer at how our digestive system works, it begins to make a lot of sense. Among other functions, our digestive system is the main place where we absorb beauty nutrients from our foods, as well as the main place where we dispel toxins through elimination. If the digestive system isn't working optimally, breakouts, eczema, redness and dull skin can ensue. 7 Benefits of Fermented Foods - Oh Lardy! Do you eat fermented foods? You should! Fermentation is a traditional form of preservation dating back thousands of years. Essentially, the bacteria naturally present on food begins breaking down sugars and starches in food. This produces lactic acid which halts the growth of ‘bad’ bacteria, so the food is preserved not rotted. Not only is the food preserved but it is made more healthful and nourishing than it was before! There are many benefits of fermented foods to your diet. 1. Because the bacteria predigests the food, the resulting product is easier to digest. 2. The bacteria in fermented foods produce more vitamins and nutrients as they digest the starches and sugars. 3. Some experts say that each small 1/2 cup serving of fermented foods can contain up to 10 trillion probiotic organisms. 4. 80% of your immune system resides in your gut. Adding fermented foods to your diet will help ensure a healthy gut! 5. 6. 7. Fermentation adds a new depth of flavor to fermented foods.

48 Foods To Balance Your Hormones & Give You Glowing Skin Who doesn't want a rocking reproductive system, balanced hormones, and glowing skin? I know I do, and eating certain nutrient dense foods will put anyone on this path. Whether we like it or not, hormones control our mood, digestion, energy, libido, metabolism, and how our skin looks. If we don't eat foods with the nutrients we need, our body cannot produce hormones correctly or maintain hormonal balance because it doesn't have the building blocks to do so. Whatever you're eating is either helping hormonal production, or causing unpredictable imbalances. The human body needs a balance of all three macronutrients, carbohydrates, protein, and especially fat. Fat is one of the most crucial elements for hormonal balance. Here's why: hormones are produced using certain fatty acids and cholesterol, so if we're missing these nutrients, hormone problems arise simply because the body doesn't have the nutrients it needs to make them. How to eat for hormonal balance 1. 2. 3. 4.

5 Powerful Reasons To Eat A Plant-Based Diet: A Cardiologist Explains It's much easier to study a drug than a diet. With proper study design, a new medication can be studied and compared to a placebo. Within a short time, results will show if the medication is having an impact, and if it's good or bad. Studying a diet is more challenging: it's difficult to ensure that all the study participants are adhering to the program, and diets are difficult to maintain for long periods of time. Because of this, scientists often resort to observations about various diets (rather than scientific studies) to guide us in choosing an optimal diet. One gem, which is relatively hidden from mainstream conversations, is the Adventist Health Study. Beginning in 1958, scientists have taken detailed diet histories and followed the health of tens of thousands of SDA members. Here are 5 powerful lessons about SDA members from this study: 1. An earlier phase of the SDA study found that eating a vegetarian diet with plenty of nuts added five years to one's life. 2. 3. 4. 5.
