I used to have that dayglo movie poster on my wall back in the day. A few weeks ago at Diah and Colin’s wedding, Colin’s brother Andrew–as only one’s siblings can do–recounted the time that his teenage brother, inspired by that surfing movie, handmade his own surfboard…and took to the waters of Long Island Sound on an oddly-shaped, sinking fiberglass creation. So it was all quite fitting that Colin and Diah were married in the summer, at the seaside–with a gorgeous red-orange sunset for a backdrop at the Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich CT. Guests, many who traveled from India, dined under the tent decorated with flowers from Something Special florist, before hitting to the dance floor bigtime to the high energy sounds of Joe D’Elia and the Allstar Band. I lived in North Carolina for a “spell” and saw my fair share of mullets. Now, ever since I moved to Miami, mullets have been replaced with fake butts – which I see on a daily basis. Thing is – mullets and fake butts are sort of the same thing. Today’s cards are the mullets of crafting. damask love | craft is in session Hello, Hello, Hello! Let me start this post off by saying: I am a sucker for holidays….all of them! My goal in life is to figure out how I can put up decorations for President’s Day. In the meantime – I will stick to the easy holidays. Enter: Valentine’s Day! There are certainly those who hate this holiday. I, on the other hand, call it a great excuse to wear my favorite red pea coat and a fabulous reason to give out crafty creations to friends and family. With that in mind, I thought I would dedicate this week’s blog posts to Valentine’s day! For today’s post, I created this cute treat bag filled with yummy chocolates. It’s simple. Just some cardstock, scored and folded around a small glassine bag filled with your favorite sweet. I used my Fiskars 2.5″ Circle Punch to create a window to showcase those cutie-patootie chocolates! I created a border for my window using PTI Mat Stack #5. Once the bag was closed, I used some cardstock and twine to trickily hide those unsightly staples!
