The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte Google Fusion Tables: Data Management in the Cloud - information Google Labs recently announced the launch of Google Fusion Tables [googlelabs.com], an experimental system for fusing data management and collaboration: merging multiple data sources, discussion of the data, querying, visualization, and Web publishing. Users can upload, share and sync datasets, fillter and aggregate the data, and then visualize it on Google Maps or with other visualizations from the Google Visualization API. Fusion Tables also enables the discussion of data at different granularity levels, for instance to discuss individual rows or columns or even individual cells between different collaborators. "The power of data is truly harnessed when you combine data from multiple sources. For example, consider combining data about access to fresh water in various countries with data about malaria rates in those countries, or as shown here, showing three sources of GDP data side by side.

Android Market #1 New York Times Bestseller Over 10 million copies sold In this generation-defining self-help guide, a superstar blogger cuts through the crap to show us how to stop trying to be "positive" all the time so that we can truly become better, happier people. For decades, we’ve been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. Manson makes the argument, backed both by academic research and well-timed poop jokes, that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade, but on learning to stomach lemons better. APC Google © 2021 - Privacy - Terms Smarthouse Streaming mpeg4 AVIs to Playstation 3 on Mac OS X | Eric Cheng s Journal Does anyone know how to stream Xvid mpeg4 AVIs to a Playstation 3 using suitable media streaming software on Mac OS X? My ReadyNas box supports uPNP media streaming out of the box, which seems to work well for formats officially supported by the PS3. The only problem with the ReadyNas’s implementation of uPNP is that it does a full volume scan of whatever I’ve shared once every 24 hours. If I add a new file and want to stream it immediately, I have to go into the admin interface and kick off a manual re-scan, which can take a long, long time. So now, I’ve switched to using Nullriver’s MediaLink, which is installed on a Mac Mini that I use as a backup server. The PS3 doesn’t support AVIs (or AAC audio files, for that matter), so the ideal media server needs to support realtime transcoding. Audio: MP3 (MPEG-1 Layer 3), AAC (Nero Digital), HE-AAC (Nero Digital) Video: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Nero Digital (MPEG-4) This seems ideal!

Joe Bageant Streaming Video on the Console - Features at GameSpot By: , GameSpot - Posted on Feb 03, 2009 The PlayStation 3 comes with a Blu-ray player, a Web browser, a music player, a photo viewer, and plenty of other features that remind us that it's no mere PlayStation 2. The Xbox 360, sans Blu-ray and Web browsing, has fewer multimedia options, but players seem to get by with Netflix streaming and Xbox Live online features. However, for all their robustness, the consoles are rather unrefined when it comes to video support. The Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 have their quirks when it comes to playing various video codecs and container files. Developers recognized this video compatibility problem and created programs such as TVersity, XBMC, PS3 Media Server, and many more free and not-so-free programs to help console owners play videos on their systems. TVersity Provided that you have a console and a Windows-based PC, TVersity makes streaming video dead simple. There are many alternatives outside of the three programs that we discuss here.
