Quick and Easy Lemon Cake This is the lemon cake that my Nana usually always makes for me when I go home to California. We both forgot about it during my last visit and I didn’t realize until I got back to Sicily that I hadn’t had my Lemon Jello Cake fix. Luckily, I have the recipe! And lucky for you, I’m going to share it! Tom Yum - Tom Yum Soup Recipes Tom Yum Soup with Coconut Milk ("Tom Khaa" - my favorite!): Tom Yum Soup with Coconut Milk Recipe(Tom Khaa) is my personal favorite of the following recipes. The addition of coconut milk adds extra tastes and richness to this soup while keeping it super healthy. If you like the Tom Yum soup you've had in restaurants, you'll like this recipe. Two-Bite Strawberry Hand Pies This post comes to you from damply beautiful Seattle, Washington! Yes, kids, I am in Seattle for BlogHer Food 2012 and not just as an attendee, but I am speaking! I am nervous, but terribly excited, and ready to get the party started! The last month has been a CRAZY travel month for me. First, I went to Camp Blogaway, then I spent 6 days in Tokyo (expect a few Japanese themed recipes in the future – the place is life changing!)
Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicle Recipe You like fruit, you like vodka, you like popsicles — shoot, you like a lot of things. So to help move you more quickly towards all your likings, we found a way to combine the three aforementioned likes into one. Before your skeptical brow can arch upwards, let us say — yes, you can freeze vodka. After some quick experimenting and an afternoon of mixing and an evening of freezing …Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicles are yours for the licking! And careful, these are deceptively kid-like in flavor but packed with adult enjoyment. Strawberry Peach Vodka Collins Popsicles to make: cobbler baked in jars I made these for the Seattle Bake Sale for Share Our Strength organized by Frantic Foodie (thanks Keren!). I had so much fun making pies in jars that I figured this was the perfect opportunity to bake something else in jars. This time I used half-pint wide mouth jars, a nice size for a bake sale. (Half pint jars washed and drying.) I used the blueberry cobbler recipe from Baking Illustrated.
Popsicles! Not to sound full of myself, but I’m pretty sure this is the be all, end all of popsicle roundups. There’s a little something for everyone: the foodies, the purists, the ones who prefer frozen yogurt, the ones who prefer a little alcohol, everyone. Tweny-five options to be exact. The post I did last summer on the cold guys was one of DC’s most viewed ever, so I thought you’d all be up for another round – was I right? Click on the photo to be taken to the recipe.
Pita Bread Recipe This pita bread recipe makes amazingly soft and fluffy pitas. If you’re in the U.S. and are used to the cardboard rounds sold at supermarkets here as “pita bread,” you’ll be amazed once you try the real thing. The yeasty, delicious aroma, the chewy texture and the delicate taste will get you hooked immediately. There’s one caveat though: once you try these, you won’t be able to go back to eating supermarket cardboard pita. The dough in this pita bread recipe is mixed by a bread machine. I own a Sunbeam bread machine, and the small investment (around $50) was very much worth it. The Londoner: Slutty Brownies Now I don’t want to over sell this, so I’m going to be conservative and simply say, that these are… The Best Brownies In The WORLD. I know, big statement. They’re called Slutty Brownies because they’re oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy. They’re best served warm from the oven, with good quality vanilla ice cream (devastatingly I didn’t have any in the freezer this time, so I guess I’ll just have to make them again). They take about 45mins to make, including baking time.
Homemade Raw Vegan Ice Cream Bars! Yes, another ice cream recipe! Funny that I am posting this today, because I started a juice fast this morning! I feel like I really need it because (believe it or not) I have been eating a lot of heavy vegan food lately…Good thing that ice cream does not go bad, coz these little guys will have to wait for me a while in my freezer Anyway, back to the ice cream! I got these cool molds to make ice cream bars at home and I wanted to make a raw vegan version of the classic ice cream I used to eat as a child.
Homemade Cereal Bars Recipe Homemade cereal grain bars are even tastier than the boxed version, but so much healthier. These are made with oats, flaxseed meal, and honey, and easily made vegan or gluten-free. My kids love nutrigrain and other fruit cereal bars. At first glance, they look like a healthy easy lunchbox option. 20 brilliant things to make in a jar Via: mycakies.blogspot.com Start saving your old jam jars!
