I have tried as much as possible to do everything on the iPad from producing presentations, editing and uploading movies, emailing and browsing, video analysis, score keeping and even my registers. But the biggest change to my teaching was the introduction of an ATV unit into my classroom.

iPhone and iPod apps for Schools I recently decided to investigate other apps that might be useful for teachers and schools. As well as finding some wonderful new applications, I also found lots of really useful iPhone+education related sites: World Maths Day 2010 has a dedicated application which you can use to practise your Maths skills. iPhone for Kids is a wonderful blog which shares ideas and advice for ‘iParents’… those parents who want to give children opportunities to use their iPhones. Using ipads in teaching and learning - Logistics As a result of running one teaching workshop with multiple ipads I've encounter a lot of the logistical issues you come across. Some I foresaw, some I did not. The easiest way to integrate ipads (or any other tablet device) into formal education is to buy each student a device to manage themselves. This is a luxury most institutions don't have and would constitute a huge leap of faith. It's more likely that you start with buying a few and piloting them - as we have done. However, this involves more managing and more setting up as some of the managing issues fall to the institution rather than the individual.

Know or die: risk and opportunity of Knowledge 2.0 “And the web stormed the enterprise and disrupted roles, tasks and jobs: it cast speed, openness, flexibility and efficiency throughout, sparing no business processes: manufacturing, logistic, accounting, customer relation management, lead generation…” The digital mutation is also profoundly disrupting how knowledge is acquired, organized and shared. Knowledge is an intangible, yet strategic asset of any enterprise.

Creating Screencasts on an iPad It's been a while since I have added to my blog, and I thought it was about time for an entry. (I have not taught in over a week due to Hurricane Sandy. Perhaps blogging might help prevent my brain from turning to mush.) I have been exploring some additional tools for creating screencasts & "flipping my classroom". Last year I used a Dell computer with a Quizdom Tablet Presenter to write my lesson in my screencast.
