No More Yoga Pants: How to Dress Like a Frenchwoman Photo: Vogue I was at a conference recently and saw my friend Gabrielle, who is living in Normandy for the year. She looked lovely, as always, and was wearing the best outfit: a fitted navy blazer over a simple tee and pleated skirt. She had paired this clean, minimal look with a pair of Bass saddle oxfords with satin laces. This, of course, led to a discussion of how French women dress. After talking to Gabby, I think I need to move to France. American women -- particularly those of us with children -- are all about being comfortable. French women have mastered everyday dress up. Keep it simple. Attend to the details. Invest in key pieces. Edit and repeat. Could you ditch the yoga pants and get dressed every day? The Stranger (novel) The Outsider or The Stranger (French: L’Étranger) is a novel by Albert Camus published in 1942. Its theme and outlook are often cited as exemplars of Camus's philosophy of the absurd and existentialism, though Camus personally rejected the latter label.[citation needed] The titular character is Meursault, an indifferent Algerian ("a citizen of France domiciled in North Africa, a man of the Mediterranean, an homme du midi yet one who hardly partakes of the traditional Mediterranean culture")[2] who, after attending his mother's funeral, apathetically and seemingly irrationally kills an Arab man whom he recognises in French Algiers. The story is divided into two parts: Meursault's first-person narrative view before and after the murder, respectively. In January 1955, Camus said, "I summarized The Stranger a long time ago, with a remark I admit was highly paradoxical: 'In our society any man who does not weep at his mother's funeral runs the risk of being sentenced to death.'

J Brand Will Now Show at New York Fashion Week After years of showing up at Fashion Week as clothing that editors wear, not watch come down the runway, J Brand will join G Star, J.Crew, and a slew of other casual brands by showing a presentation this upcoming Fashion Week season. It's their first go at this. “We felt the time was right with the success of ready to wear,” CEO Jeff Rudes tells the Cut, reminding us that J Brand sells things other than jeans. Karl Templer, of Interview and other styling notoriety, will be collaborating on the show, which basically means he'll run and create outfits for the whole thing.
