BEEZ in the Belfry

BEEZ in the Belfry

tangle, tangle, tangle Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts created Zentangle several years ago after Rick noticed how calm, relaxed and focused Maria was while working on a lettering art piece. It is best to hear them tell their own story and read about them on their web site at www.zentangle.com. Here though, I would like to tell you my own personal impression when meeting the couple at the 2nd CZT workshop held in October 2009 at a wonderful mansion retreat in Whitinsville, Maryland (outside of Boston). The setting was rustic and beautiful - a perfect location to take in the world of Zentangles. The couple had put together a great workshop. Just meeting them and spending time listening to their take on life was wonderful.

Visit the STORE > E-BOOKS tab for more details. “The Zentangle Method is an easy to learn, fun and relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.” Zentangles are miniature pieces of unplanned, abstract, black and white art created through a very specific Method from an ensemble of simple, structured patterns called tangles on a 3.5-inch (89 mm) square paper tile. Zentangles are not only exquisitely beautiful, they are fun and relaxing to create. The process of creating a Zentangle is a form of “artistic meditation” as one becomes completely engrossed in making each pattern, deliberately focusing on “one stroke at a time”®. The Zentangle method “increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being. As CZT Margaret Bremner has written, “One of the lovely things about Zentangle is that it isn’t supposed to BE anything.

I´ll let you with my last drawings that I made to frame and hand in my place. The large one ( the wave) will be a three part piece, so it is still a work in progress (WIP). Muito tempo longe do blog! Problemas pessoais sendo resolvidos...]Espero poder retornar a minha atividade no zentangle logo, assim como poder atualizar o mosaico com muitos novos padrões que foram lançados nas ultimas semanas.
