Remarkable Collection of Steampunk Sculptures

Continuing the theme of Steampunk – Unique Steampunk Insects – we want you to show the remarkable collection of Steampunk characters, engines and vehicles created by Belgian artist Stephane Halleux. For a long time Stephane worked as an illustrator and drew cartoons in his spare time. In recent years he became interested in steampunk style and the creation of unusual sculptures. About his work, he says: “I like crazy mixtures, unlikely associations, advanced technology mixed with mechanisms of long ago. I’ve always been fascinated by robotics, its advantages and contradictions.” While creating these beautiful sculptures Stephen used leather, metal, wood pulp and recycled materials. Lisa Black: Gear-Turning Steampunk Taxidermy Lisa Black Animal Hacks: Gear-Turning Steampunk Taxidermy Article by Marc, filed under Sculpture & Craft in the Art category. Lisa Black is a New Zealand artist with some macabre subject matter… she loves to take taxidermy to a disturbing new level that transforms animals into half animal / half machine hybrids. (Images via dolinsky, cultureatwork, ps3za, trendhunter) The most straight up frightening of Lisa Black’s collection are featured above. (Images via slamxhype, centuryguild, slamxhype) Some of Lisa Black’s depict animals more machine than organic, with frightening results. (Images via apparitionabolishers, seesomethingstrange) Who wouldn’t want a windup turtle? (Images via craftzine, superpunch, ladylavona) It’s interesting how the most minor adjustments can make an animal look so clearly mechanical. (Images via spikeworld, collect3d, impactlab, drpfenderson) There’s something surreal about a cute, live looking bird with mechanical features.

High Functioning Coat Hooks Back in Los Angeles, any old coat rack or a few hooks by the door would do. Most of us would just toss a jacket in the back of the car in the winter months. But here in Vermont we need a little more. Many of the vernacular farm houses I visit have at least a half dozen hooks per person lined up in their mud rooms. My wife and I each will have several different coats, jackets and vests in play all winter long. Materials, for each hanger you'll need: One cleaned or refinished paint can. 2 screws long enough to reach into wall studs. Tools: Long handled screwdriver or screw gun with sufficient extensions to reach bottom of can. Step one: With the handle in a horizontal position, layout and make 2 small mounting holes at the top and bottom of the can within an inch or less of the edge. Step two: locate and mark stud position on wall for upper screw position. Step three: Screw through the upper hole of the can into the wall stud but not quite snug to the wall. Step five: Snug up first screw.

Amazing Steampunk Sculptures Retro and Gothic and Steampunk are the right words to describe his art style. It is a clash between the peaceful nature and the raw material. French artist Pierre Matter is showing the world how beautiful copper can be by creating extraordinary sculptures out of it. Mixing it with resin, , bronze, rubber, aluminium and other materials his creations are simply fantastic. It honestly looks like he has used old junk and shaped in into amazing creations; you can find anything from fishes and sharks to horses and bulls.

Corbett showed artistic talent ever since he was a little boy. Colleagues at his Redcliff school would always tell him he’d grow up to be an artist. James Corbet says he makes these original sculptures because he can and it would be a shame to waste his God-given talent. via John Davies Gallery Reddit Stumble Altered Art Supplies Charms, Glass Beads, Jewelry Findings, Metal Beads & more! Songbirds: Beautiful Steampunk Sculptures The vintage bird collection “songbirds“, designed by Jim Mullan and his wife Tori, was inspired by his fascination with birds and antique objects. Jim begins by hand painting each bird and then adds a variety of vintage pieces when creating his sculptures. The unusual relic’s he uses, such as, croquet balls, binoculars and old toys give each inspiring bird his own personality. Objects that were cast aside as useless are used in his designs to demonstrate the fragile balance between nature and industry. These sculptures give life to the once beyond pieces of yesterday. Awesome Sculptures Made Out of Old Tires Perfect anatomical details, rawness, wildness and power are the ways to describe these animal sculptures. So well-made you would think they’re alive. We have seen raw sculptures like these steampunk ones or these steel ones, but this is something new, and even more powerful. So he eventually decided to make bad-ass sculptures out of tires. The last mentioned look like they belong to a sci-fi movie with their unusual and scary looks. Cool sculptures by Stephane Halleux Stephane Halleux was born on July 6th in Chenée (Liège), Belgium. Shortly thereafter–and very often against his will—he was taken off to museums where he was supposed to be awakened to art in all its forms. At the age of 10, while visiting the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the work of sculptor Jean Tinguely suddenly caught his attention. In 1995, during his last high study year at Saint Luc in Liege, Stéphane created the first pieces that look similar to his current works. His first exhibitions were such a success that since 2005 he has devoted all his time to his realizations. Official website You might also like Comments Michael Dachstein Inspiration junkie :)
