Make a Dress from a Button-Down Shirt

Make a Dress from a Button-Down Shirt
If you don't already have an old shirt you can recycle for this purpose, you should be able to find one easily at a thrift store. Hold the collar under your arms, and make sure it's long enough that you'll be comfortable wearing it as a dress. Short sleeves are ok, but make sure they're long to reach around your chest and overlap in the back. Also, try and find a shirt that has darts in the middle of the back. If the darts are at the shoulders, it won't fit as well. It seems like women's shirts mostly have darts in the middle, and men's shirts have darts at the shoulders. I used a blue polka-dot shirt for my first dress, and a red plaid one for the second.

Lithium Rain Radiant Beacon of Righteousness (Blinking I-hoodie) The only thing you can't buy from the shiney new Apple Store is an I-hoodie, an Instructablized version of the hoodie with light up logos of the instructables hand and the Apple Macintosh* logo. This is the Instruct-intosh version hoodie, well, it can be any garment or accessory like a light up Instructables Hand-bag (maybe next time). I do not have conductive thread nor electroluminescent panels so this is a ghetto version of making light up stuff to bedazzle your clothing. Our Suburban Farm: Christmas Craftiness Well hello there! Did you think I forgot about you?As I rush around finishing up getting ready for Christmas Eve, I had some motivation to post about my recent Christmas craftiness! Jumper These are the pieces you are going to need. The measurements are half the garment, so make sure you get them right. First, measure from under your bust to your waist. Add a few inches for seam allowances and a hem. This is where my 10" came from. Next, measure around the largest part of your stomach.

DIY: No-sew Beach Cover + How to Use a Pareo/Sarong Wow! Back in February I made a DIY beach cover up that has had a crazy popular response. I've been meaning to make a no-sew version, but I haven't been able to. Design your own shoes Product Name: Sneaker Customization Kit Background research: As summer rapidly approaches, I’m beginning to notice that I need some new sneakers. But I’m starting to realize: either the shoes I like are too expensive or the ones that are affordable, I’m not so crazy about the way they look. Then it dawned on me, what if I were able to create a sneaker that perfectly matched my style & clothes that were already in my closet as opposed of buying a shoe, then having to go buy more things to go with it.

The Convertible “Infinity” Dress: How it almost defeated me, and what you need to make one I made this thing. It’s pretty cool. It’s a convertible dress that’s basically a circle and two straps, so it’s really easy, inexpensive, and crazy versatile. It’s been around forever and everyone seems to love it (in fact, part of the reason I’m posting this is to answer some questions for people I’ve run into), and I can hardly believe how close I came to not making it at all. I first found the instructions at a blog called rostitchery, and then I came across a second set at Cut Out + Keep.
