Plus they are baked – so I won’t feel too guilty if I make it every time I’m craving for some potato comfort. Vanilla-Coconut Panna Cotta with Pomegranate Jelly Recipe | La Mia Vita Dolce Posted by Grace Massa Langlois on Wednesday, 8th December 2010 Vanilla-Coconut Panna Cotta with Pomegranate Jelly is the first dessert in a trio of Mini Desserts I plan on serving for my daughter, Liana’s New Year’s Eve party. I intend to present this trifecta of desserts in a variety of mismatched shot glasses. I promised myself the menu would only consist of simple desserts. I’ve learned to streamline things over the years. Undeniably this dessert will become the Show Stopper on your Holiday Dessert Table. Your guests will not only enjoy the silky, delicate vanilla infused Coconut Panna Cotta but the burst of tartness in the Pomegranate Jelly will also refresh the palate. In this case, less is more. Sometimes simplicity is best and that is most certainly the case with this Vanilla-Coconut Panna Cotta with Pomegranate Jelly layered dessert. A dessert table wouldn’t be complete without a little chocolate. Vanilla-Coconut Panna CottaPomegranate Jelly Makes 1420 ml (6 cups) Comments (67)

Big Red Kitchen: Cinnamon Roll Pancakes The original and unique Cinnamon Roll Pancake recipe created by Robin Sue! My little Deven loves pancakes and wants me to make them all the time, but I don’t often enough. Late last night my friend had spotted this Cinnamon Bun Pancake Recipe from the blogisphere and posted it on her Facebook status suggesting for her daughter to make them. Wow, Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, that would be a winner in my house too. I created a typical cinnamon roll filling and placed it in a pastry bag to be swirled over the pancakes as they cooked. After pouring 1/4 cup pancake batter in a hot skillet, I swirled the cinnamon filling mixture over top. Cinnamon Roll PancakesFor the Cinnamon Filling… In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, mix until smooth: 1 stick softened butter, almost melty 1 cup packed brown sugar 2 T. cinnamon Using a rubber spatula to scrape the sides, pour this mixture into a large pastry bag that had been opened and stood up in a tall tumbler. Using the hand mixer, blend until smooth.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles | RecipeGirl.com - StumbleUpon I’ve never liked chocolate chip cookies. Go ahead and throw tomatoes at me if you’d like, but I don’t like ’em. They’re just a plain old cookie, after all, with a few studs of chocolate chips in them. They’re nothing special to me, unless you get some cookie dough-action before it meets its fate in the oven. Now you’re talkin’. I’d much rather drown my sorrows in a bowl of cookie dough than nibble a dozen “cookies” dipped in milk. I know there are plenty of cookie-dough-nay-sayers out there… you know, the salmonella scare and all . Chilled dough is rolled into 1-inch balls. Those chilled dough balls are dipped in chocolate and then placed onto waxed paper to set. I dipped a few in Ghirardelli White Chocolate Bark and a few in the Chocolate version too. Oh yeah! Yield: 3 to 4 dozen truffles Prep Time: 45 min + chilling time Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles Best served cold, these treats are for cookie-dough lovers. Ingredients: Directions: 1. 2. 3. How to Make Peanut Butter SMores Turnovers Peanut Butter- S’Mores Turnovers I’m not much of a camper. My husband often takes my son on camping trips, and I happily stay behind and thank the gods for our bug-free house, cozy bed and well-stocked kitchen. I always send them off in comfort… marinate a little meat for them to throw on the grill, pack up some convenience foods and bake a few goodies too. When they return from their camping weekends, I hear mostly about the evenings sitting around the campfire. Story telling, snuggling in blankets, singing songs and roasting marshmallows for S’Mores seem to be recurring favorites. Here’s the How To: Thaw out a box of Puff Pastry, and cut along the fold lines to make 6 large rectangles. Layer 1/4 of a whole graham cracker, a piece of milk chocolate bar and a spoonful of peanut butter on one side of the Puff Pastry. Wet the edges with water (dip your finger in water and gently touch along the edge), fold over the filling ingredients and press edges together.

I promise. And you don’t even need any fancy kitchen gadgets. Patience and a bit of elbow grease are required, but we always need those in the kitchen, right? This amazing discovery was made by the famous French chemist, Hervé This, who is also known as the man who unboiled an egg. Since the recipe has only two ingredients, it all comes down to the quality of the chocolate you use. Don’t take this as a mousse recipe only. You can also flavor it with spices like cinnamon or cayenne pepper or add a tablespoon of liquor like Grand Marnier, Chartreuse or Tia Maria. Or boil the water first, take off heat, place a couple of Earl Grey tea bags, let infuse and then use it as your liquid. The most important part of the recipe is achieving the right consistency. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Chocolate Chip Cookie Bowl Sundae Photos by Donna Last Sunday morning, my son James said, “Dad, what if you made a bowl out of cookie dough?” I’m the first to admit that there are almost no truly new culinary innovations or ideas, only variations on what’s come before us, and I also know that making a cookie to serve ice cream on, such as an ice cream sandwich, is a common one (some great recipes will be in Ad Hoc At Home, now at the printers). But when James said it, I said, “Very cool idea, James. Let’s give it a shot.” And so we did. It’s taken a few different methods to figure out the best way to bake them and how much to put in our bowl-in-a-bowl makeshift mold. The following is the chocolate chip cookie dough from Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking. Fill with ice cream and serve to anyone who adores cookies and ice cream.
