This little basket is not only a perfect way to practice crocheting with rope, but also to hold little odds and ends! For this project I used a Size P crochet hook and one package of clothesline rope. This rope is nylon, but it would be fun to use cotton rope and experiment with dyeing it different colors! Porch pouf Crochet is perfect when you want to shape the yarn into certain shapes, and here´s a big round pillow dressed up with slip stitches. The pattern can be adjusted to fit any size round pillow. We crocheted the top and sides, and just pulled together in the bottom to avoid crocheting with the pillow inside. (The pouf is open under) It is important that the pillow you use for filling is big enough to stretch the cover properly, if you have a really soft and squishy pillow it has to be much bigger than the cover, or use more than one stacked on top of eachother. I wanted a blanket covered in 5-point stars, made up of hexagon motifs similarly to my baby girls puffed daisy blanket. This wasn't the most straightforward project to design, and I have to admit that I don't think I could just write the pattern down in a way that most people would be able to understand easily, so a comprehensive photographic tutorial is essential for this project. I would have loved to have made a video tutorial for you, but with only 1 pair of hands I'm afraid it is beyond me! (I suddenly feel the need for a large rubber band to hold my camera to my forehead!
