you knew i was going to make one. they are all over pinterest....(i still am not signed up for pinterest because i don't have time for one more thing but browsing is fun!) so we made one. i took a box of 64 crayons and took out the blacks and browns.i used another small box and doubled up on the good colors i liked and hot glued them to the top of our canvas. then we turned our blow dryer to hot on high. not long after you set the hair dryer by the crayons they get shiny and then the wax starts to melt! and it dries really quickly too. seriously. what could be happier than this?? How To: Make Typographic Gift Wrap & Man Made DIY This year, I vowed to only make or buy handmade holiday gifts for my friends and family, and I've kept to it so far. But wrapping these gifts in commercial paper didn't seem to make much sense, so I wanted to create some handmade gift wrap to match. I happen to think a gift wrapped in newsprint is actually quite attractive, and love the look of text on a package, but wanted to put in a little more effort. So I came up with a cool option that's clean, masculine, and maintains the typographic look of the newsprint. Plus, it eliminates the need for any "to:/from" tags, as the recipient's name is right there in tasteful type. Once I figured it out, it was actually quite easy and quick - less than ten minutes per gift. Here's how to do it: Materials and Tools 1. 2. 3. 4a. 4b. 5. 6. Happy Holidays!

DIY String Art Hi guys! Dina here from Honey & Fitz back with another tutorial. This time I’m showing you how to make some string art for your little one’s room! Rather than deal with hammers and cutting wood, I decided to do this project using cork tiles. Not only are they easy to find and inexpensive, they’re also very light weight so you don’t have to worry about them falling off the wall and hurting anyone. Here are the supplies you’ll need: Cork tiles // Linoleum Nails // 3M Hanging Strips // Contact Cement Stack the cork tiles on top of each other and use your contact cement to glue them together. I really wanted the look of a white background for my string art so I decided to paint the cork. Once the paint has dried, flip your cork tile over and apply your hanging strips. Create your template using whatever font you like. When you’ve traced the entire template, carefully remove the paper. Tie your string in a double knot onto your first nail now, and start weaving in a back and forth fashion.
Two-Ingredient Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream Recipe Brown spotted bananas were sitting on our counter, staring me down. I tried to ignore them, but they kept haunting me. It seems like I can never eat bananas fast enough. They always turn brown and beg me to put them to good use. I usually bake banana bread, banana cookies, banana cake, or use them in a smoothie. I was a little skeptical about this recipe. I sliced up four ripe bananas and put them on a large plate. I put the frozen banana slices in my Blendtec blender. I pulverized the banana slices for a few minutes, scraping down the sides a few times. If you are looking for a new way to use up your ripe bananas, try this Two-Ingredient Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream. Ingredients: 4 large very ripe bananas 2 tablespoons peanut butter Directions: 1. 2. *Note-if you have a hard time creating a creamy consistency, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to help puree the banana slices. 52 Weeks Project Easy Folded Gift Boxes - Cosmo Cricket UPDATE: If you came here from Pinterest, we later updated our readers with more examples and a video tutorial... it's much easier to follow! You can find it here. Happy crafting and thanks for dropping by! Eric often tells me I remind him of Maria from the Sound of Music. So, it's a little ironic that I lead the children's choir at my church. Once a year we combine the two choirs for the Sunday services as the main event. It just doesn't seem like enough, but I made several thank-you's yesterday for my friends that helped my little ones sing so well, I swear I could hear them all the way in Minnesota. Here' the first one I made. To make the box, take a full sheet of paper and mark it at 6" on two opposing sides. Then fold edges in to match up with the marks. Now measure and mark at 5" and 7" on the folded edges. Fold as shown below. The next fold is the only slightly tricky part, and only because it's hard to put into words. Update: Christiee asked me to try to explain this.

How To Make a Bento Box for Kids Aug05 by Guest Contributor Our Guest Contributor is Wendy Copley of Wendolonia. When my oldest son entered preschool and I had to start packing him a lunch, I was terror-struck. A lunch box full of cold foods. A lunch box full of cold foods he would be willing to put in his picky three-year-old mouth. My mind boggled. But rather than panic, I did what I do in all times of crisis: I started searching the internet. What the heck is bento, you ask? That sounds boring, you say. Ahhhh, but there’s where you’re wrong! Some people go all out when they’re packing a bento box. What you’ll need to start packing bento lunches: Don’t worry! A box — The most important piece of equipment you’ll need to pack bento lunches is some sort of box to put your food in. About that cute part So exactly how do you go about making fruits, veggies and sandwiches cute? Neat and Tidy You don’t have to line up every single piece of food in the lunch box though.
