Evernote: Encontrar una aguja en un pajar en segundos Hace un par de años me encontraba con dos problemas recurrentes: demasiado papel en mi vida y demasiado contenido digital en mi PC. Primero no paraban de llegar papeles del colegio de los niños con horarios, autorizaciones, proyectos, etc. Del mismo modo llegaba al trabajo y acababa con una pila de documentos impresos para leer y sin mencionar artículos interesantes en revistas para revisar. En una reunión también podía rellenar fácilmente varias páginas con notas escritas. Normalmente al llegar a casa, tras la lectura y revisión del material, y con más o menos orden dependiendo del día, lo archivaba en un cajón o lo tiraba a la basura. Por otro lado, mi recopilación de contenido digital, mientras navega por la web, tampoco acababa de funcionar con fluidez por aquel entonces. 46 aplicaciones gratis para usar en la Web - 17.10.2008 En los últimos meses se viene hablando mucho de la computación en la nube ( cloud computing , en inglés), concepto que supone que en Internet (la nube, por como se la suele dibujar en diagramas técnicos) se almacenan aplicaciones a las que el usuario accede desde su navegador, sin preocuparse por un sistema operativo, el hardware o cosas por el estilo. Aunque al principio puede parecer un concepto algo complejo, en la práctica (y ése es su principal valor) es transparente para el usuario. De hecho, cualquiera que haya usado un webmail está poniendo en práctica la idea de que el software funcione como un servicio, disponible en cualquier equipo. Esto puede resultar conveniente para personas que utilizan varias computadoras: sin importar qué PC usan ni dónde están podrán acceder a la misma aplicación, configurada como el usuario quiere. Apps educativas organizadas y clasificadas Me ha parecido que puede ser de gran interés para todos aquellos profesores y profesoras que están trabajando con tabletas Ipad y que se pierden en el mar de aplicaciones de la App Store esta clasificación tomada de Langwitch que las organiza en función de determinadas taxonomías y objetivos educativos. Son imágenes, así que no permiten hacer clic para abrir cada una de las aplicaciones, sino que se debe escribir su nombre en un navegador o en la App Store para obtenerlas. Aunque esta clasificación es para Ipad, muchas de las aplicaciones también están disponibles para Android o habrá otras similares para trabajar el objetivo propuesto en la clasificación.

#Evernote as an E-Portfolio One of the things I'm doing with Evernote this year is having students use it as a way to store all of their work in class. I am slowly rolling it out this year because I'm asking my students to learn many different tools and I do not want to overwhelm them. I chose my Freshmen to try the full E-Portfolio idea because I only have one class of them and it is a small class. Here is what I set up: I had each student create their Evernote Account. By following these steps, I have access to all of their work stored in their e-portfolio. The other day, I sat down and looked through their work and I wanted to leave comments. The summer is quickly winding down & a number of teachers will be returning to their classroom with new mobile devices (iPads). Throughout the summer I have been conducting workshops on iPad integration with EdTechTeacher and I thought it might be helpful to pull together a back to school list of apps structured around specific classroom goals. I want my students to create & publish video: iMovie (4.99) - record, edit and publish movies directly to the web from iMovie. I want my students to respond to polls / take quizzes: Socrative (teacher & student app - free) - This free platform allows for teachers to create and begin quizzes directly from an iPad. I want my students to edit images:Skitch (free) - An extremely easy and intuitive image editing app allows you to insert shapes, arrows and text on any image that is saved to the iPad camera roll.
