Indoor Rain Room Where Visitors Don't Get Wet

Indoor Rain Room Where Visitors Don't Get Wet
This interactive artwork by Random International allows visitors to experience the rain whenever they feel like it. Based in London, Random International studio creates all kinds of installations that explore behavior and interaction, often using light and movement as the foundation for their artworks. The Rain Room, an exhibition supported by the Arts Council England and made possible by the generous support of the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation for Art, is located at the Curve in the Barbican Centre in London. It's a free installation that runs from October 4 until March 3, 2013. In the exhibit, a 100 square meter grate hangs overhead in the center of the room, from which a continuously falling rain shower streams. Visitors can experience the pitter patter sound of raindrops hitting the ground and the moisture in the air without actually getting wet. Random International website via [The Telegraph]

Gift Ideas for Poor Creative Souls (21) Posted by: Cathy on Oct 06, 2012 Tagged in: Untagged I saw this idea a few times on the Martha Stewart site and I would really like to make these as stocking stuffers this Christmas. Materials: Baking soda Cornstarch Citric acid Spritzer bottles Food coloring Glass bowl Essential oil Baking molds 1. 2. 3. If you wanted to have a different shape, you simply just need to use a different mold, like ice-cube molds. This would give you a different way of being able to package them, like putting them in jars. Source For tutorials on how to market yourself online, go here. Fun Questions To Ask Your Boyfriend Relationships can reach a point when suddenly you realize you have nothing to talk about. Relax girls, it's not the end of the world. Happens to everyone. The best thing you can do is use this absence of interesting conversation to ask some totally random but fun questions to your boyfriend. You'll have some light-hearted fun, and may even get to know things about him you never knew (or wish you never knew). Here's a bunch of such questions you can use. Fun Questions You Can Ask Your Boyfriend What was your first impression about me? How close am I to that first impression? If you were a fictional character who would you be? Which is the song you associate with my image? If I caught you lying to me, how would you save yourself? What is your wildest fantasy? If you could give up one of your senses, which one would it be? What would be the first thought to come to your mind if someone told you that they saw me with another guy? What is the naughtiest thing you've done as a kid? Your worst date.

Barcode Yourself by Scott Blake Barcode Yourself is a complete, interactive experience in the series of barcode art, created using the personalized data of participants. Enter an individual's gender, weight, height, age and location, and the barcode is formed using real-world data. The individualized barcode can then be printed, mapped, scanned, even depicted on a t-shirt or coffee mug. Uber-geeks can even test out their barcodes on their next grocery run. It is in scanning a barcode that the project reveals its humor, like a banner that reads: Disclaimer! It is here, within the confines of an American obsession with "worth," in which the fun begins. The data entered into Barcode Yourself takes a topsy-turvy twist to its personalized end numbers, with the exception of the hard-data that correlates with "location," which tallies up in the Gross Domestic Product of each country. With the complexity of mocking self-identity, Barcode Yourself lays out a fresh absurdity in the modern world of consumerism. More info in FAQ.

What Are Your 4 Pounds Made Of? People generally eat between 3 and 5 pounds of food each day. If we prioritize natural, whole foods, the 4 pounds we choose will fill us up while boosting health and lowering body fat. If we choose “junk food”… I don’t know what you had for lunch today, but I had 18 apples. What do you think of that? You probably think I’m a glutton and have the GI tract of a gorilla. But check this – a typical fast food value meal has the same amount of calories as 18 apples. 18! Not pretty. Yet I’ve had buddies knock back 2 value meals while watching Monday Night Football. What does this tell me? Remember: Real food regulates appetite – so you don’t overeatReal food controls blood sugar/insulin – so you can avoid energy swings and diabetesReal food provides the best nutrition – so you can remain healthy for lifeReal food has a sane amount of energy – so that you can’t accidentally overeatReal food has a longstanding relationship with our body – so that our bodies know what to do with it Energy density

Lackadaisy Expressions Boy, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this. I've had requests for some sort of expressions tutorial dating back a while now, so I figured, "Sure! I can explain expression drawing...and it'll be way better than all those tutorials out there that are nothing but charts of generic expressions. Yeah! Just give me a day or two to whip something up..." Um. Anyway, I found all I could really do was try to explain ways to teach yourself...and then add some pictures. Binder Clips into Office Weapons Wow, if you thought working at your white-collared job, sitting in your well equipped air-conditioned office, thinking that this is probably one of the safest place to be… you may just want to think twice about that. The office is a jungle. Beside having to watch your back against office colleagues who may be wolf in sheep’s clothes, you may just have to watch out for those seemingly utilitarian office supplies, because in conjuncture with other seemingly innocent office supplies, they may just result to be one of the deadliest office weapon yet. Take a few binder clips of varying sizes, turn them upside down, and clip the smaller binder clips inside the larger clips. It should look like this when the larger binder clips have clipped the smaller ones. Remove all the binder clip handles. Add another 2 larger binder clips on top of the smaller edge with a rubber band in between. Take out the binder clips handle again. Reverse wrap the larger rubber band. stumbleupon
