Brownies for Dolce & Gabbana : Cafe Fernando – Food Blog - brownie - dolce & gabbana - swide - Brownies October 30th, 2010 | Category: Brownies, Chocolate I have to admit, I was a bit lost when Dolce & Gabbana requested me to create a recipe for their digital magazine, Swide. As soon as I read that email, I wished I were Pierre Hermé. He’d know exactly what to do. Who am I to create anything for D&G? Right after I picked my self-confidence up off the floor, I visited their website for inspiration and came across the Fall/Winter 2011 runway show. Now, I do not know much about fashion. Because if it is good enough for Nick, it is good enough for everyone. What I saw on the runway was quite seductive, but so wisely (and tastefully, of course) camouflaged with transparent fabric. I thought, wouldn’t a chocolate lace decoration be perfect? Me? The first one turned out horrible. There’s no possible way to keep the chocolate in the piping bag fluid for longer than 10 minutes. Visit Swide for the complete set of photos and a short interview with me. BROWNIES with HAZELNUT BUTTER and CHOCOLATE LACE

However, as much as it pains me to say it, these chocolate chip cookies by Jacques Torres are absolutely, without a doubt, the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever made or tasted in my entire life. I guess that’s why they call him Mr. Either way, I made these and everyone that tried them went nuts. Free Online Recipes | Free Recipes 365 Days of Slow Cooking Heart Cake Tutorial Finally!! Is that what you are thinking? Its ok. You can admit it. Do you remember this little thing? Well it turns out some of you daring bakers want to make this yourselves. Well. But you didnt come to see the outside right? Here goes. Start out by making four eight inch pans of white cake. Make one 9x13 (you can do whatever shape and size you want) pan of red velvet cake. First I need to level each cake. I use this handy dandy leveling cake thingy I got at Walmart for a few bucks. Remember to do this for all four white cakes. Add about 1/2 cup to 1 cup frosting and then put one layer on top. For the red velvet cake I just ran my fork through it to break it up. NOW! I know this looks pretty weird (maybe cause it is) but this is what I am going to use to make sure I have some uniformity in the heart design. Place one toothpick in the center of the cake, then (holding firmly) drag the outside toothpick around the cake and make a circle. Like this! Carve out a V shape in the cake. All filled!
smitten kitchen Sugarcrafter My Cooking Hut | Asian & French Cooking, Recipes, Travels & Photography nutella cheesecake layer bars | The Moonlight Baker I am very much a creature of habit. Daily routines, favorite foods, clothing styles, music preferences . . . It’s all so predictable. So of course, my shopping tendencies are no different. Case in point: 3 of the same horizontal-striped shirts from Gap in different color combinations. I don’t know what it is about theses simple stripes that I like so much, but I always (and that’s no exaggeration) reach for this kind of clothing whenever I’m shopping. So I suppose it’s only natural that I would make a “horizontally-striped” dessert. Layer bars. (Oh, and cheesecake too!) These bars are awesome. The first (bottom) layer is a chocolate graham cracker crust. Next comes the second (middle) layer, which is really straight-forward vanilla cheesecake. Last is the third (top) layer – the layer we’ve all been waiting for – the Nutella cheesecake! You can’t go wrong when there’s Nutella involved.
