Photography Ursus Wehrli turned cleaning up into a form of art. It might be obsessive behaviour, but it looks neat.

Carved Book Landscapes by Guy Laramee | Colossal - StumbleUpon (click images for detail) For the better part of three decades multidisciplinary artist Guy Laramee has worked as a stage writer, director, composer, a fabricator of musical instruments, a singer, sculptor, painter and writer. Among his sculptural works are two incredible series of carved book landscapes and structures entitled Biblios and The Great Wall, where the dense pages of old books are excavated to reveal serene mountains, plateaus, and ancient structures. Laramee’s next show will be in April of 2012 at the Galerie d’Art d’Outremont in Montreal. 22 Incredible Photos of Faraway Places Thailand Chances are you already know Steve McCurry as the man who took one of the most iconic photos of our time. It was of a 12-year-old Afghan refugee girl who's piercing green eyes told us her harrowing story. Electroboutique Present A Twisted Take On Consumerism And Technology Invisible Message Re-appropriating the vernacular of the digital world and twisting it so it becomes a distorted, grotesque funhouse mirror reflection of both function and aesthetic is exactly what Russian artists Alexei Shulgin and Aristarkh Chernyshev (aka Electroboutique) aim to do. Their current pop-up exhibition at the Science Museum in London (on view till 14th February 2012) features beautifully crafted electrical products that, at first blush, seem all too familiar—iProducts, LED displays, flat screen TVs—but there’s something wrong with them. They’ve become enlarged, deformed, bent out of shape, melted like Dalí’s clocks or broken by an unseen hand. These custom-made electronic products, created with live data and bespoke software, not only look like misshapen, skewed versions of the products we all know and love, many of them are interactive too, playing with ideas about technology and design, consumerism, capitalism, media control, and corporate social responsibility. wowPod

The Colossal and Notable Graffiti by Blu by marcos333 Fri, 03/04/2011 - 01:04 I don't know exactly what makes a artist most admirable: if is his artwork or the efforts and risks he takes to realize it. Well, Blu probably has this two caracteristics, making giant artworks on high buildings, walls and big structures around the globe. They may be beatiful and well done, however probably the main purpose of his paintings it's to share a strong opinion about some delicated issue like polution, capitalism, poverty, war or global warming. His dedication Is really impressive , since it's not that simple to make these colossal artworks and even to express opinions in this way.
